I spent 10 days here in June & was very satisfied with this State Park.
Sites are level asphalt pad, fire ring, picnic table and level clearing for extra setup. Restrooms are clean, each with 2 private showers. There are several pull thru sites but are on the roadway, so I don't recommend those, but the other lower number areas are on the lake. There is little access to the water from those sites, but there the office area has a boatramp and also a small unsupervised swim area. Office carries some fishing tackle, ice and small snacks. Groceries are 30 minute drive. All sites are densely shaded and the park is quiet most of the day and after dark. Nature trail in park, biking is nice on park roads. All sites are 30 amp w/ water. Dump station is drive through type and convenient insite entry gate which is locked at night. Combo # is given to each camper, changes during the week. Pets are welcome on leash.
Park is one hour North of Columbia, 10 miles off I-77. My drive from Tampa took exactly 10 hours including 3 stops for gas, food. You won't be disappointed. I plan to return there late this Fall or next Spring.

Thanks for the park review. I was thinking about going there, but haven't heard any reviews until yours. Sad since I live in Irmo, a 45 min drive from there. With the gas prices the way they are I plan on doing more camping closer to home.

Thanks !!!!!:usflag:
