While towing my Jayco an object clipped the lid. The damaged area is small(size os a wallnut). I've never done a repair like this and could use a little help on what products to use and any tips you all could give me...Thanks JD

Lid ? or Roof?

A little more information is needed to get a response.   Have you checked with your insurance agent....could be something insurance would handle with a dealership.  they might ask for photos.

If you could give the make/model of your Jayco and more information as to where/what the damage is, folks here will try to help you.

The damage is the front top of the tent trailer (outside). It's a Jayco 2006 Tent Trailer. Model 1007 FD. I'll check with my insurance, but i was hoping to avoid that and do the repair myself. The hole is about 2" in diameter.

You might want to call your dealership's service department and see what 'temporary fix' they recommend.  Mine was going to fill my roof's hole with caulk while they ordered the new roof, but I'd already put clear 'house tape' over the hole to prevent leaks (this only lasted a few days as the sun reeks havoc on the tape on the roof), so had to re-apply several times.

Is it a dent or an actual hole through the outer roof skin.  If you're more specific about the damage and what the roof is made out of, you might get some help.

For example; maybe automotive body filler, shaping, sanding, priming and painting is in order?  Or maybe a heat gun and dental pick and you can get in under the material and pull it back into shape while hot, and then caulk or epoxy it.
