Can anyone give any info as to how the pool looks at Lieber State Park and is it nice to tube/ski there?  Also, what are the Falls like this time of year?  We usually stay at Shakamak and are looking for something similar so we could tube/ski, nice pool with slide(s), camp, hike, horseback, and etc. there.  Any thoughts?

I drove through Leiber very early this spring to check it out and to look at some real estate properties in the area. The sites looked nice, although due to the size of the park I wondered if it didn't get a little loud during busy weekends. Can't comment on the pool/skiing.  Make sure you stop at the local general store which claims it is the longest continuiously operating family owned retail store in Indiana. I would like to hear your experience if you do go to Leiber.

We were at Shakamac last weekend in April, and go there at least one time a year.  The volume of hiking trials, a lot of interesting geocaches, good bicycling, (it used to be the site of one of the state's bicycle road races), and nice quiet fishing on the two lakes makes Shak one of our favorite places.

Nearby also is the Lake Sullivan, an Indiana County park which has a lot of seasonal sites, a lake with lots of boaters and skiers.  When we checked it out last year, the sheer number of golf carts, lighted palm trees, NASCAR banners, and planned activities makes it not my type of campground, but it might be just what a more party and activity oriented camping family might be looking for.  The website is http://www.sctb.net/Park/Default.htm

Thanks - I'll take all into consideration.  I like Shak too - bunches and I'll check out Lake Sullivan.  Kids only care for places with a pool and a slide - dont like beaches for swimming - too much of a "city" thing for my kids but me personally - I love it!!  I'll check out the store if we go there and post my reply!  Thanks a bunch again!! :)
