I haven't posted in a long time, but now have a new question.  I just bought a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 P/U that is equipped with a tow package.  I want to transfer my elec brake controller to this truck but can't find the connection harness under the dash.  The owners manual is no help, other than referencing that the truck is prewired for both 4-pin and 7-pin connectors.  Is there an easy way to make the determination without going to the dealer or to a trailor shop?  Any help is really appreciated.  Thanks

Hopefully you're using a Tekonsha controller. If you are then you can get a plug and play cable for it http://www.tekonsha.com/bch3020.html and Tekonsha's "contact us" is very reliable on helping folks find stuff under their dashboards.

Unfortunately, no.  I have a Journey HD.  I've got the instructions for this controller, still, but my problem is locating the connector block under the dash.  The controller instructions don't have any info on how or what to look for for my truck.  I was hoping some body here in the forum has some experience with Dodge Ram P/U's and could point me in the right direction.
Thanks for the help, Mike4947.  I'll see if Teksonsha's site can help.

Hello, I,ve got a Ford F150 and I got the all the information I could possibly need from an F150 forum. I am sure if you Google Dodge Ram  forums you will find everything you need including the color coding for all of the wires. There are tons of people with this same question on those forums you should get your answer real quick.

Paul.

Just to let you know, I ended up getting a Tekonsha plug-n-play pigtail and wacking off the controller end-plug and crimping the appropriate wires together.  I know - simple solution, but maybe the heat here was getting to me.  I just had a hard time wrapping my head around the whole concept of how these new trucks are connected up.  DUHHHH.  Frankly, I feel pretty dumb right now.  But hey, at least it's done.
Thanks for the idea.

My 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 also had the heavy duty tow package, and my sales person actually showed me the plug-n-play stuff which was in the glove compartment.....said that if I was to be towing and needed a brake controller to show the installer that plastic envelope of stuff!  (I did, and, my installation was done in all of 15 minutes or less).
