Carowinds " Camp Wilderness" NC-SC

We stayed our  second time at the Carowinds Theme Park " Wilderness Campground" outside of Charlotte NC this past weekend.
I must say this place is excellent!-- No cable TV but-- FREE Internet- FREE laundry room -- FREE Putt Putt-- and VERY nice pool; playground ; and clean; modern bath houses. Nice sites of various sizes.
Discounts for campers at Carowinds Park. VERY nice staff.

Thanks for the review. I was looking at their site, and it looks like a really nice place to go once our 14-month-old DS gets a little older. I went to Carowinds every year for years when I was a kid. I'm sure it has changed a lot.

The CG looks like the perfect place to stay while visiting. Did you stay in the tents/pop-up section?

Stayed on site #40 in that section. # 44 will be my next site... ..it was REAL big and level. Both are very close to the bathouse...which btw is heated/cooled and has private shower/dressing rooms. This was the only campground I have ever stayed in with free washers/dryers... well worth the nightly rate-- they honor AAA discounts  on the campground rates and Carowinds admission tickets

Scarowinds in October is a HOOT!
