If there is interest on your part, I'll ask the managament at Coleman Campers if they would to participate in an open forum here.

Inerested?

I think that'd be great!

It would certainly be in their best interest. They might learn a lot. :sombraro:

sewserious

I would love for that to happen.

CajunCamper

I'm all for it.

They're one in the same

Northcamper

I would like to see it also.  It would be great to have a two way dialog.

I would like to see them be part of the forum but do you think they would answer our questions here longer than Viking did. I  have not seen a post from Viking for a long time.

Dave would Coleman participate in the forum?

He Ruide

Dave, I think this would be a good idea.

However, we need to understand what the objectives are and what would be the ground rules.  If the current discussion on the Coleman license announcement is an indication, I would hate to be the company representative to have to respond to all the company bashing that has taken place. On the other hand if this would be a forum where the company could respond to technical questions, I think it would be wonderful.

I haven't seen any bashing of FTCA, Inc.

There has been posts suggesting Coleman's name on a product doesn't mean Coleman made it, and that is the truth (read factual vs opinion).

Can you detail this so called bashing.

Why the negative reaction from Fleetwood trailer owners when it is suggested that Coleman licenses its name to many products? Or that the quality 20 years ago was better when made in Kansas?

He Ruide

Coach,  I am a member of several folding trailer fora and my comments were based on more than the discussion here.  Some of the issues that were raised include:

1. Questions on the accuracy of the FTCA press release and whether it was misleading
2. Doubts regarding the future plans of Blackstreet for FTCA
3. The value of the Coleman brand name to consumers
4. The additional cost that this will add to PUP's
5. Issues with other Coleman products
6. FTCA personnel layoffs and support issues

What was surprising was when the sale was announced there were a lot of folks that were hoping "Coleman" would be involved in some way.  When this announcement was made there were more folks against it than those that thought it was a good idea.

Question, doubts and opinions?

That's bashing! Weak, JMHO. That is exactly why I asked. I think you'll find your good buddy 'and US' is a continual questioner of many a Fleetwood decision. I've never seen you suggest he's a basher, now Mike Up is a different story (he certainly has an opinion)!

Everything you listed seems to be a legitimate concern, some for The Coelman Company and some for FTCA.  I think other forums might be jealous if it happened!

I'll ask again, why some take such offense, cry 'negative' and 'bashing', that's not positive in my book.

Take it easy fellas! The guys at FTCA are sharp and can handle what you throw at them. They should be able to handle some bashing if that's what you feel they need to make a better trailer.

I thought it would be interesting for us to convey our needs and for them to hear them.
