Thats ok I am sure he is going to the DEZ, where he will get flooded out!!

The storm system that was to our South has moved, very rapidly, to the East. This leaves the window open for the low that is North of us to move South.  However, from what I see, all of these systems are moving extraordinarily fast and scenarios may change rather quickly.

I am going to stick my neck out here and predict that the severe intensity of this storm that they forecast for Sunday may well pass inland near Santa Barbara and miss us all together. If it does get this far South, it may be moving so fast that the main rain event will be intense but only last about 4 hours (if it keeps the same pace).

Brian may have been joking but what he said could well happen in a fast moving system like this one. It could be really cool to see water spouts, off-shore. The fact is, no one can accurately predict a system that is moving as rapidly as this one. The forecasts that we hear and read are all "Worse case" scenarios, designed to protect life and property.
