I have had a BAL leveler for three years now and would never go back to using wood to level. It is much easier to use for me and makes the popup much more stable when set up. I don't feel that it is that expensive, only about the price of one weekend camping trip, and so far I have had no trouble with it. As far as the grease thing, I keep it greased well and clean it up when necessary, just have to be a little careful when using it so you don't get full of grease but has not been a problem.

WHAT? that's just unbelievable.

Coach:  Get on board with team BAL.  C'mon man, you know that as many times as you camp it would wind up costing you a buck a trip.  Quit making excuses and get level :D

What can I say? I used to love playing with my wood, but then I discovered the BAL and now I love playing with it too.

Peer pressure might have worked at one time! Now, I'd prefer the simple pleasures of teaching a young camper the simplicity of leveling and hearing nephews explain to their moms how to level or tie a bowline or how they got to make/cook their own meal ...
Yes, I've also taught them about leverage, when we want to turn the PU sideways, chock one wheel and push the tongue to the side to get the low wheel to roll onto a board. Life lessons.  Priceless :yikes:
We all get to camp the way we want to!

So when I get my new Avalon, will I need two of them?

Sorry but BAL low side leveler or single wheel chockss are not recommended for use on dual axle trailers. Onr thing where the "big boys" have PU envy...LOL
