You were either mis-informed or didn't ask the right question.

You can come into the CG as a "Guest" and pay $10 for "Day use". It is true that there is not a "Day use area" at Thornhill Broome but you can come in on a day use permit as a guest. We have done that on every camp-out there and we are doing it again this time.

There's plenty of room in any number of campsites. I just found out that my daughter (Theresa) will be coming up Friday night and staying through Sunday (she will pay the $10 fee as she always does). However, I am sure that someone else will have plenty of room for you to park in there site. We are allowed 3 vehicles per site (including the trailer).

Wavery,

I will be arriving tomorrow 20 June (Saturday) in the afternoon.  I will come to the front gate and tell them that I am a guest at SCCampers Rally.  I will bring food.  I will need someone to heat it for me.

Wayne is already at the CG, so he will not see this until Monday morning. And the front gate  has no idea who the sccampers are since this is a self-service rally and each person made there own reservation. Tell them you are guest of site number 23 or 25. Also remember that this is no hook-ups. I don't know if the RV's ovens will work with out hookups :eyecrazy: so keep this in mind.

What a great rally!  It was true to form, we had rain!  But the sun came out in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday was beautiful!  Brad's niece Marcella and her boyfriend, Darrel joined us for the weekend. I understand the Marcella took some scamper $$ on Sat. night.  She said that if she had felt better, she would have taken more!  I think they are in for another rally!  The potlucks were great...looking forward to Smithwoods!

Hey Dee, Hoagie put all the wood in the fire at once...and paper plates!

Mary & Brad

STUE

we, including Courtney, had a good time, first time dry camping with the hybrid, had plenty of juice left in the battery after 3 days. Ran the fridge on LP and used portable lights so mostly needed the DC for the water pump. Anyone know of a hand pump as a back up to charge the water system?

JohnandLeann

I think we would very much like to do this one again in the future.  It was not that far to drive for a couple of nights and it was fun, plus, you never know what kinda weather you are gonna get at the beach.
Wish our contribution to the potluck was done on time.  I will get better at it!  Need to make a wind screen for starters!
Thanks everyone,
J, L, & T

It was a great rally and I really liked camping with all of you..The kids were intertained by rocks forts all over the beach and watching the dolphins swim by. The Potlucks were great...really great food was cooked by everyone.  A special thanks to Wayne for fighting with the park guards to get us closer to the group..and after the third move we were next to our kids and the group.  First come really means first come!  I couldn't beleive it would be so difficult if we got there on Friday in the  early afternoon we would already be down to the end of the line....

Dave lost his title of pimpdaddy and his money, I heard through the grapevine.

Thanks to all of you who welcomed my mom and her friend to the potluck.  You guys made her feel so welcomed.  She thinks our group is great.

My only reqrets was the weather.  I hate June Gloom.  At least Sunday was beautiful and so was San Diego when we got home.

Hoagie

It was a very nice weekend. Sure, we got rained on, but the weather was great after the clouds cleared.
Some of us drove over to the Reagan Library on Friday. We hit it perfect as it was the last day of an exhibit on the Magna Carta. If you've never been you might want to check it out sometime. We found it very interesting.
The potlucks were great with a wonderful selection of tasty dishes. Ate too much as usual for these things, but enjoyed everything there was to offer.
We are really looking forward to Smithwoods. Has the potluck listing started there yet? :D

Hoagie

Quote from: Dee4j;206760I heard Hoagie did me prooud with the campfire...

Well, I don't know about that Dee. I don't own a flame-thrower. I had rely on a squirt of lighter fluid and a butane lighter. Not quite the same effect, but the fire got going good and hot.

As for Brad's comment about throwing all the wood on the fire, I knew I'd take some heat for that. (Pun intended.) What he forgot to mention is that it was his "Much Better Half" that wanted more wood. Oh, and it was only the last couple of sticks at that point. We even managed to get some of the longer sticks that Wavery brought to jump out of the pit and scatter sparks.

At least we were burning wood (mostly.) Several sites down someone used Wavery's abandoned firepit and the one next to it to burn some huge stacks of books. Textbooks mostly, but some paperbacks too. Wierd. Of course they left them smoldering and the stench was just great. Whatever.

Gracy

We had a great time too and will totally be adding Mugu to our top list!  Thanks to Brad for showing Shayne how to start the furnace!!!  Even with the rain on Sat morning it was an awesome weekend!

griffsdad

Griffsclan had a great time too! We love Pt. Mugu - hey, let's have another rally there.

The potlucks were great as always. The company was fabulous. Marcela, Brian's cousin took money from Pimp Daddy and her boyfried, Darrell. Bryan won a little over his original investment of $5, and I won $2.05. Hey Brad, you should play poker with your cousin and keep the $$ in the family. Come on!!!!!!!!! If Marcela can do it, you can too!!! Well, maybe not.

Loved watching Griffin playing with Tyler and Ashley at the beach and going to President Reagan's library and seeing Air Force One.

Since it was a SCCampers rally, you know it had to rain, luckily it was just on Saturday morning. Sunday, of course, was sunny and warm.

See you all soon. Lori and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary by camping this weekend. Can't wait.  :)
