We camp over Easter each year.  A few families have spoke to me about going a little further south (warmer) for an Easter trip next year.  Is anyone interested and where would you want to go?:)

Just a thought to throw out there...We need to use up a timeshare exchange, were thinking of Outer Banks from Easter weekend, probably arriving day before Easter staying for a week.  Don't know how well it might be mixing campers with timeshares.  Do know Outer Banks is beautiful, one of our favorite places.  It's about a 10 hour drive from here, less for you PA/MD/DE folks.

That is a little far for a 3 day weekend, have been to VA beach for 3 day weekends, which is 5 hours for me.

Spent an Easter at Newport News City Park with MAPCE when I first started camping. It is on a reservoir, not too far from I 64 and Ft Eustis. Camp sites were quite spacious.  Water and electric on each site.  I think the Wyatts were there, yes because the little girl lost her shoe, it had rained a lot before we got there.

Several miles to VERY VERY good shopping and resturaunts, so bringing food is not an issue.  About 7 miles from Busch Gardens, and a little farther to Old Williamsburg.  Time shares there also and Old Williamsburg is beautiful in the Spring.  Just and idea I thought I would throw out.

Have never been to First landings SP, it is in VA beach, not too fat from the Bay Bridge Tunnels. Hear it is nice.

Most MD SPs are high $$ compared to neighboring states.

If electric is not an issue, then Greenbelt NP is nice. Just inside the beltway on the north side of DC. The campground sits deep inside the park. But resturaunts and shopping are a 1/2 mile either side of the entrance and the green line metro is about a mile from the entrance.  That is the way to see DC, lets you out about 3 short blocks from the Mall closer to the capital than the Washington Monument. Unlike most NPs, this one has HOT showers, I guess because it is so near DC.

If electric is not an issue and you want to be close to the beach and shopping, Cape Henlopen SP, offers tax free shopping in DE, the Rehobeth outlets, the Cape May Lewis Ferry and Ocean City MD is not too far down the road.

My real choice given time and money and Raymond letting me tow the camper that far is Ft. Desoto SP in St. Pete Fla.

Again a little too far, is Erwin TN, there is a small campground on a river that is beautiful, this is in the Mountains, west of Asheville, NC. biggest down side is the road in. Someone needs to be on the other end keeping traffic from coming down as there is NOT room for 2 vehicles. White water rafting and Asheville are the attractions there.

We have had our second snow/ice day of the year.  It isn't looking good for SD to have days off over Easter, but I am still planning on going somewhere.:)

DS only has good Friday off for Easter.  He isn't sure that he wants to camp.  I have Friday to Tuesday off.  If anyone has plans and wants company, let me know.  I should be able to crank up the PU by then.:D

Nope I won't be camping that weekend, Palm Sunday I am going to be camping out on my SOn's couch, in Louisville KY...well he has the couch because he can put his bad disc between the cushions, and I get the bed...he is having steroid shots and cannot do the simple things like shop run the vaccuum and cook a meal...I did remind him Walmart usually have those carts...he is 34 and has to use a cane.  He needs his mommy...So I am taking the week before Easter off. We will spend 3 or 4 days there then head to NC south of Cherokee and camp out in a motel for a couple of days...to visit my aging aunt and her alzheimer's husband...then head back and get home on Easter Sunday.

Decided where you will be going? How far south?  I will be heading home Easter Weekend, plan to start back on Friday.  If somewhere close to my route I could stop. I/we usually stop at The Cozy, if they have a room and spend the night there since we/I have gotten older and have some less stamina for these 12+ hour drives.

Our plans have firmed up, very close to what I posted above.  We will be going to Duck, NC in the Outer Banks.  We are not camping, rather staying in a timeshare condo.  We'll be leaving NY on Easter Sunday after our services are over and returning on Sat.  If anyone's in the area, let us know.

It looks like I will be camping locally.  RB Winter State Park.  DS doesn't know if he is going to camp with me or not.  Some things never change.  I hope he goes.:)

I understand how you feel, Tracy. I hope he camps with you as well. At least the cg is close to home, so maybe he can join you for some of the time. Wouldn't it be nice if he brings Easter dinner to you! Court (and her bf) are coming home for Easter weekend so no camping for us. Figures, the one weekend that K has no track and we still can't go away.

Kelsey actually said today that she wants to camp (well, she said she wants to bring her bf). She was out walking around town (nice weather) and smelled people grilling and it reminded her of camping.... But then again, her busy (sports) schedule keeps messing up our plans. I thought we'd have weekends off this spring. I think the entire track team (or at least JV and Varsity) competes at Dual Meets during the week, only some kids compete at the weekend RELAYS (all day competitions)... I haven't cancelled French Creek yet because I was hoping she'd have weekends off. The coach only brings four or five Varsity throwers to these Relays and I didn't expect her to go, but she went and did well Saturday (she and her partner came in 2nd in jav because K's score was 2nd highest from her HS and K's partner is amazing and has been training for 6 years. I think K has thrown jav maybe 6 times, haha). It's early in the season and there are maybe 15 throwers on her HS team so who knows? I imagine their times will vary and maybe different girls will be selected different weeks. Maybe, just maybe, there will be weeks when Kelsey's free. I'm hoping it's in two weeks  ;) .

Di some day (in a few years) it will all be over.  No more HS sports.:D
