We returned from our 2nd annual New Year's camping trip to Pittsburgh.  It was a good trip, we spent the time visiting our DD#1 and her husband.  We left NYS on Sun. Dec. 28 and stopped on the way to have a nice lunch and chat with TLHDOC.  It was a very windy drive most of the way, the camper was pushed around the road most of the trip.  We arrived at Mountaintop Campground in Tarentum early evening.  We stayed through New Year's, coming home on Jan. 2.  This allowed us to score one camping night in 2009!  Temps were below freezing each night we were there, with the lowest at 15 degrees New Year's eve.  This was our coldest camping experience to date.  We weren't expecting temps that low, so didn't prep the trailer properly.  We went to First Night in Pittsburgh and returned to frozen water lines.  I got some heat tape on the waste tanks and exposed drain lines.  We were able to fill a bucket of water so that we could continue to use the bathroom in the camper.  It must have been the line from the fresh tank to the pump that froze, as we were able to drain the fresh tank and use the pump to re-winterize all water lines in the camper when we left.  Water was still not flowing at that point.  I would put some heat tape on that line if I could get to it without tearing apart the whole kitchen wall of the camper.  We experienced heavy winds throughout the week at night.  Don't know how heavy the gusts were, but we experienced a lot of camper movement.  I was mentally reviewing my setup of the camper with chocking and putting down stabilizers, hoping the thing wouldn't roll on us.  We survived nicely once we got used to the motion.
