Just wanted to say Hello!

Hi All!!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone.  I have sort of a "pop-up"...a small homebuilt older jeep type trailer with a roof top tent that "pops" open. I used imformation from several different forums including this one when deciding to tackle the build this summer.  I'm an avid TT camper from way back..but started in a "Little Champ " trailer a looooooong time ago with my family in Penna.

It was tons of fun..I learned alot of different things, and finally got to enjoy one trip on Halloween weekend at the end of the season.  Albeit a bit short..but perfect.  

I had a great time cruising these forums for info so my hats off to great bunch of folks!  I look forward to some good times in the future.

A few folks have posted some home built trailers here but you deserve a 'Major Award'!

Thanks for all the pics and details through your build. You've inspired me and really made me want to go camping.

Thank you for the kind words.  I'm sure like most, you get more pumped by doing a job yourself.  To think it all started by a frustrated tentcamping weekend and turned into this still gives us a great laugh.  I also have a shower/potti tent that goes with the setup, so having those bases covered keeps the ladies especially happy.  Climbing down the ladder at 2 a.m. has its drawbacks though.  

We stayed at Clarence Fahnstock State Park that had nice bathroom/ shower facilities, was still primative and within 8 miles of the house...total score!!
