Anyone ever try a Quick&Hot instant hot water heater by Waste King? 120 volts, 780 watts, 5/8 gal. tank, heats to 200 deg. in 15 min.

I am thinking of installing one in camper for making instant food, coffee, washing hands, etc. Does anyone see any problems with this. tips or suggestions? I like this unit because it is small and easy to install.

Thanks,Larry

Larry, I sell and service this product and unless you want burnt hands when washing I'd suggest NO, remember 200 degress is always a constant temp as they are controlled by a T-stat and a normal water heater temp is normally around 125 deg. F, also mounting may be a problem as the 2 lines from faucet to tank arnt all that long so depending on your galley it may not work, if your rv isnt a popup than it's easy to install and are used on alot of rigs.

I installed one of these in my Coleman popup with the swing level galley. It just fits in the cabinet top to bottom - a tight fit. I turned the thermostat all the way down and the water is still hotter when fully heated than you would want to hold your hands under. I installed a switch on the side of the galley to turn it on and off with and what I usually do is to turn it on AFTER IT IS FILLED WITH WATER and let it heat for about 3 to 5 minutes and than turn it off. This is usually more than hot enough to wash your hands with. If I am going to do dishes or want hot water for instant soup, tea etc. I leave it on. You can hear it heating after it is on for a while and when it stops heating it is quiet. I really like ours and use it all the time when we have an electric site but you do have to be somewhat careful using it because it can get to be to hot to wash your hands under if left on to long.

We used a 30 cup coffee urn.  It takes about 30 minutes to heat up.  You can use the water for food prep then mix hot and cold to make good dishwater.  Around $30.00 at discount stores.

I like my propane water heater - takes about 15 minutes to heat initially, uses little propane.

When doing an overnighter and I don't hook up - I will use a tea kettle on my range for hot water - quick/easy no muss or fuss.

I to like my propane water heater.

I would also like my propane water heater if I had one but for now I guess I will have to stick with my electric one and if I don't have an electric site I use the stove to heat a pan or tea kettle of water.

We installed one exactly like this (brand and size) though I can't remember who we bought it through and we love it No scalding water as there is a temperature select level on it.  We also placed it on its own switch, so that we can just turn it of when we want to.
We also changed out the tiny little pump lever faucet on the sink and replaced with a very basic bathroom faucet used in homes.  We LOVE it, it works just perfect!
