Where are the best Fishing campgrounds In Southern California?

Craigtheretired

Well hidden from anyplace I have ever visited.

Here are a few places off the top of my head.....

Yucaipa Regional Park is a good place... for more local camping and fishing.

East Shore in San Dimas... you have to drive from the campground to fish.

Cachuma Lake is really nice but you can't do reservations unless you have a really big group and I'm not sure if they have any hookup sites?

Big Bear Lake area....... there are several places close to fishing there.

Lake Isabella... camp right on the lake and fish and camp... no hookups though (I have a post on here about the annual derby thats coming up the first weekend in April).

Theres also another thread in the SCCAMPERS forum where people are suggesting some other fishing/lake/camping sites in the Hemet area.... I haven't been to those though so I can't give any tips on those places ;)

GREAT!  If you love to fish you should join up with the SCCAMPERS group........... my DH loves to fish and then maybe he'd have someone in that group who he could finally hang with who also fishes!  :p

Here is a link to that Lake Isabella Derby I mentioned before ;)  Maybe we'll see you there!

I love to fishing to but in texas all the lakes are drying up aint no fun when you can walk out and club em

If you don't mind a drive, the Bridgeport area (more Central, CA) has lots of lakes that have good fishing, incredibly beautiful surroundings and not a lot of people.

I'm into ocean fishing myself. We often take our surf casting equipment up to Point Mugu and fish from the beach.

looks like you live in Temecula. There is fishing in Lake Skinner, just a few miles from you. There's a decent CG there too.

BTW................WELCOME TO PUT!!!!!!!!!
