Quote from: guineaI liked the CG suggestion that STUE posted.  It is the San Bernardino
Co./Yucaipa  I have never been there and it looks great.  Won't these campgrounds be filling up pretty fast for the summer season?

If you like this CG and want to go camping there, become a wagon master and get the detail's on the CG and start a NEW thread/topic on camping there. pick a weekend that is good for you and then let the group know and others will join you if they have an open weekend.

We went to Dogwood last year, but the bugs (and bear) drove us nuts!  Mainly the bugs.  I may call Campland.  Really wanted to try the KOA but its just too expensive.
What are you guys talking about????

Since when is June HOT??

July/Aug/Sept, I would agree with you but June should be nice. A little AC may be required but it shouldn't be the 110 of Aug.

Maybe you need to look at the reservation site for Yucaipa, that allows you to res. 1 yr in advance and it's booked weekends thru OCT except Halloween wkend.

Yucaipa isn't very far out of your way, on the way back from Joshua Tree. You could stop in and have a look around.

We had a rally at Yucaipa many moons ago (6 or 7 years ago) .  The sites are HUGE!!  It is a nice regional park with cement pads for the trailer and nice big picnic tables.  Lots of grass for the kids to play on.  The only negative thing I remember was the bathrooms didn't have doors, they were separated by cement walls.  Maybe things have changed over the years.  All I remember was it was a crummy spot for a rally because there is so much space between sites.  It does get really hot during the summer.  June might be ok.

WHAT!!!!!!!!

Why........that's un-American :usflag: .......un-SCCAMPERan and just down-right, plain, not right.... :swear:

Oh man......I'm bummed. I was sooooo looking forward to your kids hiking with my grandkids and all the other kids..... :( Now ......I'll probably have to take them...

I guess I just wasn't paying attention........It never even dawned on me that you guys wouldn't be there :eyecrazy: .

If you want, we can stop and take pictures at the Yucaipa CG.....Just give me a link to the place. We go right through there on the way home. It'll cost you a quarter per pic :p .

Here are the weather stats for Yucaipa:

Link is on this thread.  WE aren't going to campout because its my last week of the school, and we have scout stuff that weekend.  Plus we aren't great fans of the Dez.

Yuciapa Regional Park is a nice campground but if you go as a group, the sites are far apart.  They do have a new section (Dee checked it out last year) and seemed to like this section.  We may consider Yuciapa if we do the Riley's farm rally again.

I just looked up the Yucaipa CG. Not exactly on our way home but if you put ... 34 03N 117 03W ... into the GoogleEarth search bar, they have a pretty good view of it. Don't use the address in the Yucaipa CG website. It's about 2 miles off.

Yucaipa is nice, but I'm tellin ya , it gets HOT out there.

I have made notes and most of the sites are pull thru loop type with hook-ups for 2 rigs some 3 rigs.
Kim if you want to do Riley farms there we can get together and I'll share my notes...
