Is that it? That's pretty cool, and probably lighter weight than the Lodge that can be purchased.

Welcome to PUT!

Yes, I made mine for about $20.00.

Hey North Shore:

The 3rd is my birthday too (45). When DW ask me what I wanted for my birthday, I said "to go camping" so I've been fiddling with our PU all week waiting for our first outing of the year on the 4th.

A friend from scouts made me one of these.  Its pretty cool.  I use it for the lantern usually, but who knows in the future.

He made mine with adapters halfway down the legs so it comes apart in smaller size..

He also made a carrying case out of black PVC for it.

Can't wait to go! Been packing all week it seems. We have a good chance of snow this w/end, oh well, bigger fire.

If you poke around the net you can find the exact plans for the version you mentioned. I like the case idea as well.

Shredder

I don't see anything to hold the I bolts into the conduit, so I assume it's friction that holds them in place? Is this a problem? It looks like a nice project, we have been using store bought tri pods with a grill but now we have a 12 inch dutch oven so we will need something more sturdy.......shredder

The Eye-bolts I used had nuts that fit into 1/2" conduit nicely, with a little help form a well tuned alignment tool. (aka Hammer)
