Leak in '01 Coleman pump-style faucet

We had our first camping trip of the year this weekend.

Due to a less-than-reliable connection (thanks Wally World parts) between the camper and city water, we couldn't leave the pressure on to the camper all of the time.

But when we did turn it on, we had a slight drip from the faucet (not beneath or around, but actually from the faucet itself). At home I'd just toss in a new washer, but as I look at this piece of molded plastic, I have to wonder if that's even possible.

If not, I've read elsewhere in here that the original equipment faucet is big $$ to replace. Suggestions welcome. Would it be cheaper to just install an electric water pump and a laundry faucet so I wouldn't need the hand pump when we don't have city water?

Ideas welcome.

Did you use a pressure regulator between the city water and your camper?  If not, maybe you were just over pressurizing the system.

Yea, we had one on there, although it is a couple of years old.

I'll bump this with a more direct question. Does anyone know if these pump-style faucets can be repaired if dripping, or do I need to replace the whole thing? If so, what's the recommended replacement? I read somewhere that the original equipment one isn't made anymore.

Thanks,

Dave

If it is a Shureflo it can not be rebuilt. I had the same problem when I forgot to blow the water out and it froze.

These use to be pretty much standard fare for popup campers ...

It's what I have in my present Starcraft and what the previous '96 Coleman Yukon had.

The only fix is a loose hose, other than that it will need to be replaced. Good time to upgrade to a demand pump and faucet. I did this on my 01 Utah and wished I did it when I first brought her home. The best part is you can throw that micky mouse hand pump thing in the lake!

Now we don't promote trashing our lakes and outdoor areas do we?
J/K.  Know you meant figurative.
