AAA Rv/Motorcycle coverage

Paying the $37 extra for this coverage has been one of the best investments I've made. I started my day off today with not 1 but 2 Flat tires!! :banghead: 1 on the Expy and one on the trailer. This is the 2nd time I've had to use it.
last year the AAA person told me the name of the company that was on their way to change it and that they would do it for the $200 contracted amount so I'd pay nothing...$200 to change a tire! The guy today told me today They charge $340 when the show up to a call on the freeway. Unfortunetly they have classified ALL RV's together, I can see the extra cost involved for a Diesel pusher but It's easier to change the tire on my trailer than the Expy..the spare is much easier to get to.

Besides change tires it covers towing of your RV also. We pay just over $100/year for the AAA Rv/motorcycle  PLUS (100 mi towing)....

Turns out the Tire on the expy had a nail and the valve stem on the trailer tire was bad.  I had the wheel bearing done on the trailer last Wed could they have done something to it on accident or is it age like my tire guy said?

Thanks recumbentman for telling me about this option.

I agree the price is worth the peace of mind that AAA coverage provides on your RV and TV. Plus I have a motorcycle and had a flat on it awhile back and this coverage really paid for itself on just that service call.
I also like there Car battery service. They come to your door and the cost is really close to going to a retail store and buying a replacement battery. :p

I have that coverage as well.  Never had to use it while towing thank god, but glad to knkow I am covered.

The batteries are cheaper at Costco, if you install yourself.  If not then AAA is a convenient option.

Yes dee it is Possible they hit the valve stem and broke it, but how you gonna prove it??  I also seem to recal that there was a recall on valve stems not too long ago, maybe you had one of those??

I know I can't prove it...but makes me wonder if it just went bad would the other go also. It was a very slow leak

There is a big thread about this on another site.  The valve stems will weather.  One guy was just washing his rig when he wiped the wheel the valve stem cracked enough to leak.  Everyone should check their stems, or just have them replaced if you have an older rig.  The rig the guy had that this happened to was an 05.

We have AAA for our 3 cars but don't have it for the trailer.  Is it only $37?  I guess when the policy renews I should look into it.

are you thinking insurance?? I'm talking about the roadside assistance..you can add rv/motorcycle anytime, they will pro-rate it to your renewal date

check out their website for the full details

I was told when we bought our trailer, that if the car broke down while towing, they would come tow the car but LEAVE THE TRAILER!  Unless I had the RV coverage.

No, we have State Farm for insurance and AAA for roadside assistance.   I just need to check out the upgrade to the RV assistance.  AAA up here is a little more expensive than AAA of Southern California.  Not sure why.

Nope it is different.  Down south it is AAA of Southern California and up here it is CSAA.   Not sure what it stands for.
