So what do you think Sccampers?  Should "we" put a board on PUX since the two are now run by one.  We could post rallys on there maybe get more members???

Any thoughts?

Maybe I could get Dean to give me admin privledges and I can help keep it up to date.

If I recall, I started visiting the boards just when some of the issues a few years ago were issues. I have no idea what they were about and really don't care. It's in the past.

Personally, I like both boards and would love to see them mirrored or merged in the future.

:book: just my 2 cents. If we mirror the two sites together, we could wind up having 6 to 10 or more pages of new posting since the last time you log in. It would make it hard to keep up with all the new postings (can only read & respond to so many at a time)
If we post rallies and get more people signing up, you get to the point that you can't get on a camp out, because there are now so many campers and only a few sites available. at some point it just becomes to large to handle. I have notice that even now on some of the bigger camp outs, that its getting harder to get around the camp fire, because of the number of people. the circle gets bigger & bigger and at some point you can't feel the heat anymore.
So again sometimes bigger is not better.
OK let the flaming begin :yikes:

I personally would like to keep them seperate. I belong to both as stated before. most people know both are here and visit each site for different reasons. maybe you should make a poll.

I have noticed (at least today)  I couldn't even get on at 7pm and just for kicks I tried PUX and couldn't get on there, tried again at 9:30 got on but a snail moves faster.

I'm still being patient as I know I'd hate to have Deans job but hopefully he will get all the kinks works out soon, otherwise it will be time to roast some marshmallows..;) :p

OK - I've been cruising around in here since I joined up about 2yrs ago. Now I have a really DUMB  ??? - What does P U X stand for? I've been able, as a general rule, to deduce what many of the acronizms mean, but this one has me stumped. Anybody care to let this old desert rat in on the meaning? Thanks

Pop Up Explorer, its another PUP site...

Gracy

Wouldn't that be kinda confusing to have SCCampers forum on two sites?  Just my 2cents... seems like there would be a lot of having to go back and fourth trying to piece info together????

I do think PUX gets a lot more traffic then this site though.  I think you guys would have to decide to choose one over the other.  ???

PS: I couldn't get on last night after 7pm eaither.

Just as an FYI.... I'm a senior moderator for Dean over at PUX-HYX... Ever since he brought PUT over to his server, it has had moments where the traffic was so heavy it has bogged down his server, mostly weekday evenings. He is either going to upgrade the server, or split them off to seperate servers. He is aware there is a problem. I have not been able to get on any of the sites in the last few nights either.

As for a merger between the sites, I don't think that will happen anytime soon either. But you can always start another section over there too, then bring everyone together at one or the other sites.

All aside, Both are very helpful.......Toni and I started out on PUX and from that site We heard about SCCampers, and what a GREAT group of people, Lots of families getting together for what they like ....CAMPING

These site will be run in a professional way and will always be for the community to enjoy...DNO hope you figure your server problems out and keep both sites enjoyable...JMHO

Perhaps I'm not understanding.... but am I correct that to have the sites mirrored means that the programs would duplicate the posts on those mirrored topics so both sites would read the same????

In other words if I post a comment in say a rally thread on PUT that it would also post/mirror in the same rally thread on the PUX site and any post made on that same thread on PUX would also post/mirror on the PUT.... No going back and forth to keep up..

Perhaps there are definitions of terms needed....

and perhaps one would not have to mirror the entire site but it could be reserved perhaps to rally threads... so both sites are aware of upcoming rallies without having to keep up with 2 websites.... just some brainstorming...
