So we dry camped at my son's school over the weekend, no elec, no propane no nothin.  Ran the lights on Batteries for a total of like ten minutes.

Middle of the night the CO detector goes off, never heard it before so didn't even realize it was ours.  Then it goes off again in the morning.  Not a solid beep but pulsing.  Do these have batteries in them?  I thought they ran off the trailer.

Or is my sons school on a methane field!??:U

Have you checked the level of charge in your camper battery?

it was completely charged before we left, and hardly used...ten min

But by completely charged are you saying, "I had it on a battery charger over night so I assume it got charged."  Or are you saying, I put a digital volt meter on it, and while the CO meter was beeping, the battery was sitting at 12.6v, so I know this isn't a problem caused by low battery voltage."

Not trying to be argumentative, it's just that there's a big difference in knowing what the battery voltage is, and saying, "it's a freshly charged battery."

NO volt meter on Them, (I have two) but yes they were charged with a 3 stage charger over night and had no draw on them at all until we used them for lights to get dressed.  thats it.  I can't iimage it the TV batteries, but ya never know. I guess

When was the last time that you checked the water level in the batteries? ;)

Grab a cheap digital volt meter from Sears or Radioshack, Batteries Plus, Harbor Freight, or where ever and keep it in the camper.  I think you'll like having one.

After cjpoppins fun at Mugu, I checked it before I charged, they were full.  I really don't think its the TV batteries.  Could be wrong.

Old Goat

Change the 9 volt battery in the CO detector...end of problem....

I believe that the CO detector is hard wired in that trailer. I could be wrong......wouldn't be the 1st time. :D

You can here it chirp each time that you turn the battery on.

It could be a bad ground or loose connection.........time for a new trailer. :D

You're right Mike.....it's a propane detector in that trailer......I missed that ....but I don't think it matters if it's the toaster, if the stupid thing is beeping, Dieter's gonna blame it on me.....:p

I wonder if the propane detectors have a battery back-up .....I know that the smoke alarms in my apartments do.....

of course wayne!  its always your fault, its the reason we keep you around!!:p

If it has back up then why does it sound off, and power down when you turn off the batteries?  Wouldn't it stay on?  I am gonna turn the power on when I get home and see what it does... maybe one of the kids farted on it.

If it has a back-up battery, it may beep once an hour to alert you that the battery is low.

Actually..........someone could have spilled something on it....;)

It went off once in the middle of then night and turned itself off, then again in the morning until I turned off the batteries.

We'll see.  Maybe I will hav eto look at the manual!! yikes
