I have a 95' Coleman Avalon that is leaking around the AC unit inside. This is the second gasket I have installed. Following installation as far as adhering gsket to the bottom of the AC base and making sure the roof surface is clean and debris free. I've been told not to use any caulking and not to crank down too much on the 4 mounting bolts.  What am I misssing here? I amnow working on my second set of damaged curtains. Any suggestions?

Do you have water intrussion.... a. While it is raining or.... b. When the AC is running??

Sorry, should have mentioned that it must be leaking during heavy rains. I have yet to see it leak while camping haven't been caught in the rain .  Usually find the damage after it has been closed for a month or so after I open it up to air it out. It does not leak while AC is running. How tight should I be compessing that gasket?

Contact the AC manufacturer and ask them how what torque the bolts should be tightened to.  :)

Is it possible the weight of the A/C has now begun to con-cave the roof, allowing the rain to accumulate and leak at the seal or at the cut-out for the A/C?

My thought exactly.....I believe that PU has the ABS roof and it should be quite convex on the top (kinda like having the AC mounted on the top of a mountain). If rain-water is running inside from around the AC, that's a good indication that the roof may be collapsing in the center.

Side on pics would be helpful.

If that's the case, it may not be too late to build suports on the inside of the roof.

Pics would be helpful.

Some people here have done that.

Did I mention................Pics would be helpful. :sombraro:
