Quote from: rsgault;207949After we arrive on Friday I can unload our gear and go pick up a full truckload in my Tacoma.
We have a truck too and would be happy to help.

Could always have the guy delivering the firewood to meet some of us in an empty parking lot near smithwoods and then just transfer the wood into our trucks and then we are just bring in our own firewood per their own rules ;)

I like the idea of having it delievered- the map says only 1 hour to Gilroy- but the traffic would make it longer trip- a lot of people come to the beach on the week-ends.

I also have a truck that we can use.

Put us in as contributors to the firewood fund as well.

griffsdad

Put us down for a contribution to the firewood.

We have 13 families interested = $65

I will not get there till sat noonish, so if someone wants to take on the fun of picking it up and paying by check, I can collect when I get there? Or you can send a can around the fire on friday night...

RSGAULT or OC Campers.  Maybe use the bigger truck we will get more wood??

Heres the reply from the place in Santa Cruz
"Hello Mr. Kutz-
Here at Paradise Landscape we would be more than happy to accomodate all of your firewood needs for your trip. We would be able to offer you $54 a truck load for your Toyota Tacoma and if you would like two truck loads filled up we can do it for $100 out the door. Please let us know and we gladly accept both cash or check for your purchase. Thank you for contacting Paradise Landscape for your summer needs.

Dieter,

I also have a truck, we can make a road trip if needed. Per the email, it sounds like they will work with us.

Count us for $10 towards the firewood

rsgault

Consider it done.  If we use my truck and one other I suggest we get $100 worth.  If you split it up it still means less than 10 bucks a family.  I will write a check for the wood and pick it up on Friday.  I will collect from those that want to contribute sometime during the weekend.  I am somewhat familiar with Santa Cruz and have a general idea of where they are located based on their address.

Your the bomb.  Take a big truck!!  maybe they will give us more.  I will get you our money when we get there.  $10 is fine with us....

You can count us and In-tandem in for contributing for Firewood.
I agree, the place in Santa Cruz is a lot closer than Gilroy, so just get two people with trucks to go pick it up, and we will all help unload it.

I am sure there are a few local places in Felton, Boulder Creek or Scotts valley that sell firewood, which might be closer than Santa Cruz, but I'm not sure they would be using the internet to advertise their services, normally a few signs posted locally, or advertise in the local papers, so maybe wait until we get there and see if we can get a better deal. We are camping in the redwood forest, so there are trees all around, so there should be a local supplier.

OC Campers

We are more than happy to be the second truck.  We'll blow up the airbags and load er up.  Just tell us where to pick it up.
