Wavery,

Did I read it correctly that you are pulling with a full size Chevy truck? :U

YAAAAAA!!!! I hope that I don't regret it, with the uncertainty of fuel costs and all that.

I think that I may hang on to the S10 for awhile. I love that little truck. It's so reliable and perfect for towing the PU with 2 people. I'll miss getting 16MPG and the power to weight ratio is about the same as the big truck with the V8. The S10 actually has a high tow rating.........go figure.

The problem is, we have to take 2 vehicles if we want to drag along the grandkids. That takes half the fun out of going camping.

We've come a long way from towing our 3500# Coleman PU behind our Chrysler Concorde......

Someone was not talking highly of trailmanor at PUX. I PM'd 'em to suggest they ask you over here and noted the sig change.

Congrats on your new Chevy Silverado. You are going to love just how well it will tow....with extra power to spare.

I used to own a 1992 GMC Sonoma with the small V-6 (2.8L) that did a splendid job towing the 10' box Palomino. Loaded weight was close to 2,000 lbs.

Once I purchased the 3,100 loaded-up Mesa, that was all she wrote for the little Sonoma.

Once again, congrats and many years of great service with the TV.

BTW, that guy over at PUX was not really bad-mouthing Trail Manor campers, he just has about 5 pages worth of erronious information that is confusing to everyone concerning the unit, and TV tow ratings.
I elected to stay out of it!    :D

I couldn't care less if he did bad mouth TM........They build a great camper. The shame is, they over hype it. I don't like that type of marketing and I can almost guarantee that it will come back to haunt them.

They try to increase their market buy appealing to people that have vehicles that really are not suitable for towing the campers, fully loaded. It's one thing to state their Dry weight as being what it is. It's an entirely different thing to pump particular vehicles that they state are capable of towing them. It just seems like dangerous ground to tread on, to me.

Yeah, congrats on the new-to-you GM Iron.  I think you're going to really dig it.  Sure the S-10 is a rockin' little truck.....but when it comes time to tow something size (bulk and wind resistance size) of the TM, I think you're going to love the full size truck, truck frame, brakes, and the torque.
