Quote from: wavery;209436It's kinda like all the other ratings on our vehicles. We can't pick & choose the ones that we would like to ignore. Just because our passenger car tires may be rated at 200MPH doesn't mean that we can ignore the State's posted speed limits. Those States that post 75MPH speed limits for trailers are not going to pay for our blown out tires either.:morning:

Just because we can do something doesn't always mean that we should......;)

well sorry not buying the fact that driving between 60-65mph wore out my tires faster..sun and age yes...ALL tires in the US must meet the UTQS which states; "ALL tires MUST be able to handle speeds of 85 mph" and the "R" speed rating is 106 mph

I will be looking at getting tire covers

Tire covers will help prevent surface cracking. What really helps the tires to "Live" longer is to exercise them regularly.....:D

That's not meant to be funny BTW.....it really does help to move the tires to a different position about once a week or so. Vulcanized rubber keeps pliable with movement. When the tire sits in one spot for a long time, the rubber can harden in the area that all of the weight is on. Then when you do move the tire it has more of a chance to start breaking down in that area because it is not as pliable as the rest of the tire. This is especially problematic in areas with extreme temperature changes in short periods, like.....eh-hem.......the desert.....:)

Those of us that go camping a couple times a month have no problem getting 5 years out of their tires (I least, I don't). Usually, the ones that only get a year or 2 are the ones that only use their trailer a couple times a year.

that's what the guy told me today when I dropped off the first tire...I guess this means I need to camp MORE...my trailer sat too much this last year.

too much effort to move it evry week but maybe if It going to sit a couple of months we can move it once or twice.

will be getting covers...Does it matter what kind? I was thinking of getting the one that covers both tires at once in white
