Some SCCAMPERS had the pleasure of meeting BIG lovable Kenai (our Son's 120# Malamute).

Kenai has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. She will be put down on Friday. His mommy & daddy are at the hospital delivering grand-baby #11 (Natalie).

Carolyn is going down to San Diego to pick up Kenai from the vet so that her mom & dad can say goodbye the same day that they bring Natalie home.

That's a tough one to deal with Wayne.
Very sad indeed about Kenai.

Trying to look at the positive and at least there will be a new SCCamper soon in the family.

Jeff & Kenai have a very special relationship. This will be very hard on him (and all of us).

Jeff's house burned down in the Cedar fire in Eastern San Diego County in 2003. Jeff & his brother Kevin lived together and they were in bed when the house caught on fire. Kenai saved their lives by getting them up and out. They got out of the house with Kenai and the shirts on there backs as they drove through walls of flame getting to the road. Kenai was literally all they had left to show for their lives and that was enough for them.......

OH no!!!  What a sweet heart!  My boys are going to be very sad!  They ALWAYS looked forward to seeing him.  Its gonna be hard to break to them.  Its too bad that the baby and Kenai couldn't spend time together either.  OH wow  what a bummer

Thank you to everyone for their condolences. Kenai was put to sleep on Saturday. She got to meet her little sister.

I'm so sorry for their loss, Wayne.  It's the hardest thing in the world to do, but so important that we put the needs of our furry friends before our own selfish desires.

We are really sad to hear about Kenai, (I'm tearing up as I write)
Our fuzzy friends are truly part of our families.  You will always have fond memories of Kenai to cherish forever.

Sorry to hear, even though I've not met any of them. I can empathize.
