Looks like we may be back to "Plan A".

The weather may be still too unsettled for Mugu this weekend (as it looks now). However, I only trust weather forecasts 3-days out. ;)

Looks like it is just going to be cloudy on Friday, no rain.
It still might be too chilly at night and not even 60 in the day time.

We kind of have a commitment sort of on Sat as well.
Hope Plan "A" is better for all.

The temp and/or rain are not the issue.

When cold fronts pass through Pt Mugu, you don't want to be there. That great big sand dune is there for a reason.....;)

Looks like this weekend should be good at Pt Mugu. We're going. We'll be there Friday afternoon thru Sunday, in case anyone is interested......:-()

There are 37 sites available (as of 5 minutes ago). I see no reason to make reservations, we're just going to show up.

This is an "Add-ON" camp-out.......:)

And we'll be in the mountains too. But not with 30 cub scouts, 30 boy scouts or 30 scouts of any kind. :D

Stay warm Dieter. I'll be thinking about you as we enjoy a nice evening by the fire or playing pool or sitting in the jacuzzi. :W

Wasn't there a tent city there last time we were all there?  Kinda reminded me of a MASH set.

That's fairly common at Mugu. Usually a youth group will have a large trailer full of tents and misc gear. The kids have a blast and we've never heard a peep out of them or had any issues with them at all.

You can have a max of 8 people per campsite. In order to have 30 campers, one would have to pay for 4 campsites. As you well know, the campsites are huge and putting 4 or 5 tents in one site is not an issue.

JohnandLeann

I actually thought it was cool that there were so many tents together then.  They used some of the rocks and made pathways to each tent and all.  I wish we could join in.  I think I am going to like Pt Mugu if we can ever get away to it again.
Committments and the DW not feeling so good lately.  Hope it is just side effects from her treatments and not anything else more seriuos.  Waiting on test results to come back any day now.  If she felt better I might have been able to convince her to go. :(

We sure had a magnificent, beautiful, peaceful weekend.

For those of you that have not seen the "Green Flash"

Here's the pics of this weekend. There are quite a few changes in the topography at Pt Mugu after the storm.
