Everything went as planned.  Heather says she feels better already except for the surgery pain.  They had to make three seperate incisions.  She is in good spirits and looking forward to geting back to normal.  I am excited, we really didn't know what was going to happen.  The Dr said if he couldn't get through the scar tissue with good results he was going to pull everything out of her back and that would be it, there are no other treatment options for her, so this either works or she deals with things the way they are indefinatly.  Thank God they got it.  The Dr said the scar tissue was as hard as bone but once he got through it she reponded normally.  He was very pleased with how it went.  He said He had never seen a back as bad as hers in someone her age and was surprised at what he found in there.  So a big sigh of relief and a new bottle of hope are hanging around the Hively house.  Thank you all again for your support and prayers.  Bryan

Tnank God its Friday.  It has been a rough week.  The surery went good but on Wednesday evening Heather started to run a fever and it steadily climbed even after taking tylenol.  At about 10:30 she got up to 101.9 and I took her to the emergency room.  It took them four hours to get her fever coming down.  They ran all kinds of test but could not find the cause of the fever.  We left the ER at 5am, needless to say I was tired.  She started running a fever again last night but we were able to stop it with motrin right away.  Fortunately we have had a lot of support from our church family including dinner every night.  One of the college group members came over on Wed night so we didn't have to wake up the kids to go to ER.  Dave and Sue (Haedee Poppers) will be around this weekend to help out as well, so we have been blessed with an out pouring of support.  Our church even surprised us yesterday by hiring a house cleaner to come over so Heather won't have to stress about the mess I'm making while she recovers.  Please keep Heather in your prayers for a smoother recovery.  Thanks, Bryan

We just got home from the doctors and everything is going good.  Heather is doing better aside from feeling nausiated from all the medicine.  She is responding to her implant very well and today they were able to tinker with it to get it even better.  As she heals and the inflamation subsides she will need constant fine tuning until it works just right.  She said today she is feeling better faster than she anticipated and is ready for Easter camping!  Thank you all so much, Bryan.
