Prayers welcomed and appreciated

As many of you know Heather has been waiting for her surgery date. They finally are getting her in. She is having surgery on Monday the 25th at 5 pm. This will be her 6th back surgery. As you can imagine she is nervous. As for me I'm worried. I hate knowing what shes about to go through and theres nothing I can do about it but be there. She is not nervous about the surgery itself but the painful recovery. I'm concerned about both. One of the surgeries she did not come out of the anasthesia like she was suposed to and they put her in ICU for three days. It was hell for me, she doesn't remember how it was because she was asleep, and not something I wish to repeat. I'm one of those rare men who actually likes his wife (j/k other good husbands) and this is the worst part of marriage for me. As you all know I am a big believer in prayer and I don't think there is such a thing as too much. So on that note please keep Heather in mind and I will post how things went after the surgery. I am blessed to be a part of the Sccamper family where I know I'm surrounded by people who care. I love you for that.

We are so glad you posted to let us all know what is going on with the surgery. Of course, she has our prayers and good thoughts going your way. We will also keep you in our prayers!

Heather as you know I really understand just what you are feeling I pray for a good outcome and speedy recovery and strength for the family.....Bryan Jim understands just what a worry and strain it is on you he had to go through 7 back surgeries on me he sends his special prayers for you,Heather and kids and family. Please keep us posted by the way what are they doing this time is it the pain implant? God Bless......Carol and Jim

Yes they are putting in new wires for the spinal implant and moving the battery pack to a different place. The worst part of the surgery is the battery pack not the spinal work.

I just know Heather will do great and I truly pray after a short recovery time she is up and around and can enjoy the family,camping and all the things she would love to do....Hang in there Heather it can be done.......God Bless

Bryan,

We pray that God gives you, Heather and the kids His strength and comfort as she has her surgery on Monday, and that He is with and guides her doctors as they perform her surgery. We also pray that this surgery will be the blessing I know you all have been praying for for a long time.

The hospital justed called and they are post poning her surgery. I am so mad I can't see straight. In the time we have been waiting I have made more than $12,000 in monthly premium payments to them. They gave us no real explanation to why they bumped her just that they would get her in soon. I am going to wait till I calm down then speak with her doctor personally(again). He has actually been good with working with us and told me he is just as frustrated. He told me their are only four doctors in San Diego that do this surgery and that is why the wait is so long. I thank you all for your support and will keep you posted. Thanks, Bryan

I feel your frustration Brian

. The same thing happened to me last month when I had my surgery. I know how much of a shock that phone call is after you are all psyched out for a certain date.

I finally fell back on the fact that it's better not to go in with anything less than ideal circumstances. I'm sure that the hospital doesn't like postponements any more than the patients. You just have to have faith that there was a good reason for it.

I 'm so sorry for Heather this is so hard.....These HMO's and being afraid to spend the money needed can drive you crazy......I had to go through this with my pump it was on the cutting edge and boy did we have to fight to get it done they just didn't want to spend the money and the fight between the Ins and Dr and Hospital was crazy.....It did get done and hopefully soon Heather will get through all the red tape....Good idea to cool down and stay on good terms with the Doctor/Kaiser......God Bless and keep us posted:eyecrazy:
