Brakes Where?

Anyone have any good sources for brake parts on an 02 coleman/fleetwood Niagara?

I think that your PU may have 10" x 2.25" brakes.

After removing the wheels, remove the drums, remove 4 bolts (on each side) remove the old brake assy and put the new brake assy in it's place. Cut the old wires and splice in the new wires (solder and heat shrink connections).

If you need new drums, they are available too. Be sure to clean, inspect and repack the wheel bearings.

I had considered putting brakes on our pup but it is not really worth it due to its aged condition.  If it was in better shape I might have done it by now.  I bet we go dark before I put brakes on what we have.

Just don't get caught. I actually got pulled over by the CHP one time....I was doing just over 60....like 62....he gave me a warning and he also checked our safety chains and trailer brakes.

Our trailer did not come with brakes from the factory.  I was thinking about adding at one time for some 'whoa' assistance.  There is a blue or purple wire running down the left side of the frame and tied up in there above the left wheel but it does not appear that there ever were brakes installed.  If I did it there would be enough wire for both wheels.

Does your trailer have brake drums on it? Some do.......

Installing brakes is easy and cost less than $200 if you do it yourself. It will save wear & tear on your truck.

A few years back I considered adding brakes. I determined it would easier to get a new axle complete with brakes from a local axle maker.

I remember comparing prices to these folks.

No there are not any drums on it currently.  Just hubs.  I think I looked around at etrailer.com and some others before but I still don't want to put any brakes on our current popup.
I have seen Prodigy is the alleged preffered conttroller for brakes.  I would get a controller before brakes, that way I am ready to go for when we do get to go to the dark side.
Will start research for Prodigy very soon and get one.  I'll be ready no matter what then.
