New moderator for new SCCampers/PUX boards?

It looks like PUT may be merging with PUX. There has been some discussion on Dino's announcement thread regarding moderators for the new boards. Most of you know that I am the official moderator for our group but haven't been on the boards so much lately. I would be happy to remain as moderator for our group, but I understand if you would like someone who is on the boards more frequently than I am. My only comment, though, is that whoever the moderator ends up being, that person should have the ability to be diplomatic, foster resolution, and respect feelings and things shared in confidence. Even though we are a wonderful camping group, we get on each other's nerves like any "family" does once in awhile and some major disputes can occur. (I speak from experience here.)  It also means that you sometimes have to put your moderator hat on, bite your tongue, and not post what you'd really like to say in reply to a post--  :compumad:  --perhaps the hardest part of all!! ;)

I throw the discussion open for the group and encourage you to speak freely--really truly--my feelings won't be hurt if you'd rather have a different moderator. :)

I vote for Dieter as moderator

Lori has done such a great job for such a long time, it doesn't seem prudent to change anything, as long as Lori is happy to do it.

I, for one, would feel honored if Lori would keep the helm especially with her work load. I just didn't feel comfortable volunteering her, knowing how busy she is.

That's pretty selfish..........you just want your wife back........:sombraro:

Lori you have our vote but only if "YOU" really want to keep that heavy hat on.......Maybe there could be a vote if someone else wants to give it a try....?

From what I've seen in the short time I've been a member, I think our 'family' gets along better than most I've observed.  I think we're a great group!!   With that in mind, I'll go along with whatever the group decides.  I agree, it's up to Lori whether or not she keeps wearing that hat.  I just don't want to lose contact with the group, so it's important to me that it remains accessable.

I vote with the majority :p

Maybe it's a good thing that you're not on so often, Lori.  That way you stay more objective when the necessity arises.

I'd really appreciate it if you'd continue being the moderator.  Your diplomacy has really done a lot to keep this group cohesive and dynamic.

As much as we love Lori and all she does and has done for the sccampers group. I think this would be a good time to get some new blood in as a moderator. Lori seems to be swapped at work and I am sure she could use some responsibilities taken off her ;)
Now if we only knew someone who lives in Beverly hills and has a lot of time on there hands :p

Not a chance.....too much drama for this old man.....

I agree with Wayne, but not for the same reason he states.  How can we expect one who "stirs" the pot be responsible for turning off the heat ? ;):)

(no offense Wayne) :)

Looks like Dno put me as one of the moderators for now, with Lori, which I don't mind cause I don't think there is too much drama around here.

Now my next question is should "we" us our contact list and email the members of SCCampers to let them know of the forum change???  many aren't on the boards very often...

It's not that there's a lot of drama--but when we do have some, it can be a doozy!! Also, you don't hear much about what little drama we do have because it's often resolved off the boards.

In any event, your idea is a good one, Dieter, but I'm not sure how up-to-date the list is.  Dee--you're the list keeper--how up to date is the contact list? If the answer is "not very," then another option is to send an email to everyone through these boards before they are closed. I would imagine most people's email addresses are up to date here.

So Lori, you can handle all the drama, and I will just do all the sticky's!! :)

can't you only send three or four names at a time. That might take a while!

OC Campers

You can take the camper out of the SCCamper but you can't take a SCCamper out of the camper.  We have been gone for 6 years but still enjoy this amazing group of people.  Lori has done such a great job as "Boss" if she is up for the task that is great but I do think she needs a "side-kick".  I think Dieter would do a good job (bad spelling and all:p)
