I haven't seen any new posts yet here so I will try one.

We are planning on taking a trip next month from Connecticut to California through the south and southwest. I've been looking at popupgizmos for some time now. Has anyone used them in the really hot states? How much do they really help. It looks like some places we will travel through can get over 115 degrees for several days at a time. Any thoughts welcome.

Pop Up Gizmos will help keep you cooler, for sure. We use the silver reflective tarps from Harbor Freight held down with large binder clips. I bought the tarps oversize and cut to fit.

I had a set when I lived in Washington (State) but in the North West we only had occasional days that would be over 100, they worked very well up there. As for the South West,w e lived in our travel trailer in El Centro, California for about 4-years where the summers could be between 110 and 120 everyday for four months. Even running two air conditioners would not keep us very cool. I wondered if having some kind of solar cover on top would have helped, but that camper was around 32' long with a couple of sides, multiple vents, AC and antennas on the roof making a little more tricky to put a solar type cover on top.

Yes it's a bit on the too warm side.

Can't speak to the southern states but they work great in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

At this point I guess it can't hurt. It seems like it should help a little at the very lest.

I'm guessing there are likely to be some windy areas you may pass through. I would take a look at the high wind version. I don't think you would regret it.

Every little bit helps.  We used them for the 10 years we had popups.  Besides helping control temperature, they also keep the bunk ends clean from tree sap and bird droppings.  I think they are worth the money.
