Does anyone recall seeing these?  I thought they looked great, and was planning on purchasing one of  for the coming season, but can no longer find any information on it.  I have tried searching the old board with no success.  As I recall, the device was manufactured and sold by a St. Clair Shores, MI company.  It attaches to the canopy pole, and stretches to raise the center of the canopy to prevent water pooling.

If anyone has one, I would also like to know how well they work.

 Thanks,
 Jim

mortjvCall Dave at the office.  I remember the item you are talking about.  The manufacturer sent a sample to PUT for evaluation.

mortjvRick (CampnFan) had some at last year s rally, so you might email him. IIRC, he said they worked well, but might not be worth the price they were asking.

mortjvAt $80 plus shipping they d better do something besides make big round dents in the awning fabric.

mortjvAlthough it would not look as " finished" , you could probably rig something like this up with PVC pipe, hose clamps and a flower pot base.

mortjvThis thread may be heading to the fix it forum.[;)]

mortjvMy impression is that this is an item that is overkill.  If you have problems with pooling, then you should be leaning your awning a little more to one side or the other when there is rain or the chance of rain.  I ve never had any problems with pooling water.  I have heard of other people damaging their awnings because of pooling water, so there can be problems.......

mortjvI looked at the Web Site and it also indicated the Canopy Umbrella also added additional stability in windy conditions.  Has anyone had any experience with the umbrella in windy conditions?  Does this make it worth the purchase?
