Jo Ann

Jo Annmine came really fast...so there is still tomorrow...unless of course you leave early tomorrow.

Jo AnnI won t camp without my mat anymore.  Had it out the last camping trip when it rained ALL weekend.  We had NO mud or grass tracked into the camper and there were three kids going in and out all day!

Campntime

Jo AnnWe used ours a second time camping last weekend.  Liking it better and better.  Covered with needles, dirt and gravel...turned it upside down and shook it a couple of times and everything come off.  We have received several comments from people wanting to know where we got it and how much we paid.

Jo AnnLove mine also! Things would have been a heck of a lot messier at Charlotte without. We did have muddy water seep through from underneath when we would step on it, but at least we didn t have to step in actual mud.

Unfortunately, Carolina red clay mud doesn t just rinse off with the hose--or at least the red color doesn t. [: (] I spread mine out in the back yard the other day and hosed it down really well. Some of the muddy color came off but not all.  I had some CLR that I had used to wash the camper. I splashed a little on rug and more of the red color came off when I hosed it off again, but I think it s going to take some serious scrubbing with a mop or brush to get it really clean. Some of the white still has a reddish tint to it. It doesn t look too bad--just not as nice as it did before the mud!

 Ann,

You may want to invest in a small electric pressure washer. I bet that would get out the mud and there are tons of uses around the house for one. I don t have one but I ve used one and they re really effective for jobs like that. Also good for  cleaning out garbage cans, cars, dirty shoes, bicycles, anything that an ordinary garden hose and soap-and-water can t. Cost for a small one generally run from $90-$150 depending on water pressure and volume. I bet it ll make your mat look as good as new. I ve used it on my green Astroturf and it really did the job quick. I ve also used it on my fence and it stripped years of dirt and weathering right off. Looks like new wood now.

Jo AnnInstead of the pressure washer, just get the maroon mat, so the red clay blends right in! [:D]

Sorry, I couldn t resist.  I m finding too many ways to make my life easier right now.  Getting out of cleaning things is one of them!  [;)]

labontefan

Jo AnnConsidering that the mud at Charlotte and Martinsville is the same color (and usually plentiful when we re there), I should have thought of the maroon mats!!  I chose the green and white because it matched the Coleman and the Durango. Silly me![;)]

The pressure washer is a good idea! With a large driveway and a carport, it would probably come in handy. Thanks for the suggestion, Sacto!

 Jo AnnAll,

Ordered mine on Monday and it arrived last night. One day delivery. Nice!

B

Jo AnnThese mats look so nice, do they transport easily? Can you roll them up like the astroturf? Is that basically what they are made of? I would love to order one for our trip to The Catskills but we leave next friday night, did all of you receive yours before the two weeks it says it will take? Thanks! B

Tim5055

Jo AnnCall the office 800-398-8893.  If they are in stock they usually ship them the same day.
Most folks report getting them in a few days

B

Jo AnnWoohoo!!!! Mine is on the way and i should see it by Tuesday!! Thanks guys, now to hide it from my hubby who refuses to pack one more thing! LOL B

B

Jo AnnWowza! Its here!!! That was super fast less than 24 hours. big question, although it looks nice and light and manageable now dry and folded and new  how is it after a rainy muddy weekend trip? How do you guys transport them? I got the bigger one but am wondering if i should have went smaller? B

Tim5055

BAfter a weekend camping trip just hose it off, give it a shake and fold it up.

 Transports very nicely.

I think you will be very happy.
