Falling Gas Prices??

I filled up in Greer, South Carolina yesterday, $2.349 a gal....

I paid $2.95 this morning and actually got excited about it.  That is just wrong.

I paid $2.79 on Wed eve.  most stations running about $2.83 beats the $3.58 we were paying.  gee I wonder if that's cutting into their 78 billion dollars of profit...... :swear:

Here along the s.e. NC coast (just over the state line from Myrtle Beach, SC), gas prices here this morning were $2.419/gal. -  SC has less state gas tax so they seem to run about a dime less.  However, I understand up around the Spartanburg, SC area gas has dropped below the $2.20/gal mark. Interesting how gas prices within a county can vary 15 cents/gal., and not that far apart either!

One major point to keep in mind about these gas prices ... just as night follows day, with an upcoming election, "things" have a way of becoming more reasonable during the just before voting time. But hang on afterward! There's no doubt in my mind that today's corporate America, congress and the Washington D.C. political crowd, are a real tight-net den of thieves.

Just got back from our tirp.

Found gas cheapest in NC and Va.  $2.11 to $2.19.  On the news that one gas station was selling it for $1.99 in NC.

In NH, it looks like $2.39 is the cheapest in my area.

We did 4500 miles on this trip so seeing the gas prices tumble gave us a few extra dollars to spend on ourselves.  I had budgeted at $3.00 a gallon for the trip so it was nice to overbudget for once.
