There was frost on everything this morning, but it's shaping up to be a beautiful sunny day up here. I had thought about stopping by to meet y'all, but my son is sick for the first time in 3 years, so it looks like we're anchored at home.

Remember, you can rent kayaks at the marina just across the road and the little cafe in the marina parking lot is a great way to meet friendly locals. The natural history museum, which is just above the marina, is definitely worth the entry fee ($2 for adults, free for kids under 16).

Have fun! Drive safely.

We had a great time at Morro Bay. The weather was perfect. The kayaking was great and the company was better.

We had a couple of real nice pot-lucks and they finally taught me how to play, "Girly poker"  :p

We forgot our camera but I took a few (lousy) pictures with my cell phone camera:

We are home again after another great camping weekend.  Morro Bay was beautiful (although a bit chilly) and we had a great time.  It happened to be the Winter Bird Festival so we got to observe some hard core bird watching in action...and we thought that the ScCampers were a cult!  We also explored the newly remodeled (2002) Natural History Museum that had a lot of fun interactive exhibits and activities for the kids. The potlucks on Saturday were yummy as usual thanks to all and we managed a poker game in the cold with heaters on each end of the table.  Wayne, you forgot to mention that although we played girly poker you managed to be the big winner...congrats!.  Sunday we watched football and went in to Morro Bay for some shopping.  Sunday night we celebrated Karen's birthday with dinner at the Bayside Cafe right in the park...can't beat a restaurant that is in walking distance from our campsite--plus the food was great.  On Monday the only remaining rally attendees were the darksiders and us and not to our surprise we had a bit of rain...fortunately it quit about 2 hours before check out so we managed to pack up before we hit more wet weather.  On our way home we stopped at the Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo and then the Camarillo Outlets to re-stock on Vans shoes for the kids.  All in all it was another great camping weekend with a mini ScCamper group!
