Hey.......we're camping once in Dec, twice in Jan and twice in Feb.....

You're the one that has to, "skip camping in January to recoup and get ready for the months ahead". The Energizer Bunny just keeps us going :sombraro:

I just wanted to stop by and mention to all of you that you should really stop and check out the monarch butterflies in Pismo on your way to or from Morro Bay. It's one of the largest colonies in the country. You'll be there during a great time, and they are spectacular.

Hey, we were hoping to possibly get to this one, but not now for sure.  Our tv was rear ended and totaled on Dec 4.  We have not received the payoff for our loss and not yet approved for a loan for our replacement vehicle.  We live about 45 minutes away down south in Santa Maria.  If you want to take a ride up the coast from MB, seek out the Elephant Seals up north by Cambria.  They probably have been calfing by now and there are a lot pups on the beach.  We love that area of the coast from Morro Bay northward.

I just visited the link above, (I'm finally booking my '08 camping).

1.  Is this trip on for the January 20th weekend?  Or did everyone make reservations for January 11-13?

2.  ReserveAmerica takes site-specific reservations.  What spots did you guys reserve?

3.  This place has an entire section with electric and water hookups, (no sewer), is that where you guys reserved?

Hi Beacher,
The first post on this thread has the details but to answer your questions, the rally is MLK weekend (Friday, January 18 through Monday, January 21). At the time the reservations were made, they were not taking site-specific and only one hook up site was available so darksiders got the hook up site because it is her birthday celebration weekend. The plan is to get together for potlucks on Saturday and Sunday dinner at McClintocks (very good BBQ). Let us know your site number when you get your reservation. I'll add you to the list. Even though our favorite fire starter won't be joining us on this rally because it is too far to drive (not that I'm callling her a wuss or anything like that) we plan to have a fire, play some poker and drink some tequila and/or cactus coolers. We'll be camping in just over 2 weeks...yeee haaa!

DOH!! I hear you calling me out!!! even tho you are an 1 &1/2 closer than me

but I don't usually camp in Jan.
even if it was right here @ canyon rv I wouldn't be able to go. Kevin has finals starting that Tues. :banghead:  this will be his first experience with these, so I need to be home to make sure he studies :book: ..something he doesn't think he needs to do. :eyecrazy:

FYI, getting to the nearest McClintock's requires either a drive to SLO (20 minutes) or Shell Beach (35 minutes). There's not one in Morro Bay.

My sister just reminded me that my nephew is graduating from boot camp in SD on Sat the 19th.

So does that mean you will be joining us in Morro Bay shortly after the graduation? :-()

The weather in Morro Bay should be great this weekend. That could be  a good news/bad news thing. They rarely go more than 10 days withouth a cold front (rain) coming through. The weather for the next 10 days look great.
