This year the DW and I are planning on bringing the  10 x 10 tent that we  recently vacated, and setting it up for the Kids and thier friends to hang out in. We hope that this will keep them out of the camper, and let them have their own space.

 Does anyone else do this?

Popupnut

 DBGCAMPWe do!

We have been bringing a tent with us since we started camping - we have a teenager that has much older than my other two children - she an bring a friend and stay up talking all night if she wants - this does not keep up the little ones and we all can enjoy our camping time!
 It s worked out beautifully!

DBGCAMPWe bring a kids Play Hut.  Kind of like a tent, without a bottom.

Our kids are still little, so if they spill or drop crumbs in there it s no biggie.

To see pics of our Play Hut, check out Trlrboys webshots in the forum for North Texas pop up camping association, from the Texas Inks Lake trip last weekend.

DBGCAMPI carry one around, but haven t needed it in a couple of years now. But it s like a guest room if we get some last minute " guests"  along...

Where s Birol? He s got a tent!![;)]

DBGCAMPWe just had a tent given to us this year for the purpose of letting the kids use it.  [&:] They are 7, 4, and 3!!  I don t think so!!  I know the 7 year old wants to, but I can t see it yet, even if he does insist he s 7 and a HALF!!![:D]

DBGCAMPWe ve also carried a tent for a very PRIVATE teenage daughter. She needed her own space and we were all happier when she had it! She is now older and in college and her younger brother has sort of inherited it for himself and friends.
Most camp grounds don t seem to have a problem with a tent next to the pop-up but we have been at several CGs thru the years who refused to let us set up a seperate tent. Needless to say they were not on next years  list.
 Happy camping!

DBGCAMPSure do, it s that s " spare room"  in case friends show up!  (You know, we always invite friends and family to join us, and once in awhile, they do!)

DBGCAMPWe always have a tent.  My oldest has slept in it since he was 5.  He did not like his sister hitting him in the head with a flashlight.  The only time we did not set it up was if it was raining or to rocky.

DBGCAMPMany, many years ago we used a tent for our children to use as a play house and storage shed for toys, etc. during the day when we felt they were too young to sleep alone.

Gamecock Camper

DBGCAMPWe bring a small (I mean very small) play tent for the kids most of the time.  When the kids bring along friends to camp with us, we usually bring the bigger tent (12 x 16 ??) a two room job that has hosted many a birthday party since we now have a pop-up.

GaryWT, he must be OK with it since he s still doing it, I m just nervous about him being out there all by himself.  Maybe if the dog slept with him!!  [:)]

Camperroo

DBGCAMPwe bring it in case friends stop over for a night.  There s no way the kids would go in it...my DD said why should I go in there when we have AC and heat in here![;)]  Definitely will be RVers as they grow up!!

DBGCAMPI haven t taken my tent since I got the cabin. I keep it for my daughters girl scout troop to use. If we  had a level place to use it I am sure I would keep it at the lake as a guest house.

DBGCAMPWe started camping in tents last summer and really got into it...... thus wound up with a PU in the Fall.  The kids always got the huge tent (11x18) and we would sleep in a little 2 man tent with a nice thick air mattress in it.   We d put that little tent 3-feet from the fire and that was our space.

Today the kids get the PU we still sleep in the little tent.
