Looks like Cedar it is for Nov 14th.  If you all like the place, we can arrange to take over all of Alder in spring.  You ll see for yourself what I mean about how perfect Alder s layout is for us.

I think the cancellation policy is 7 or 8 days beforehand.  (Lori, Dave would know better by then, yes?)  I could book 6 sites now at the $18 rate, and if we don t fill them, release the extra and we just pay $23 instead.  Not bad.

 Sounds good! [:D]

CottonwooderWell yippeee that Date will work..I ll tell DH later we re camping that weekend.  so put us down for a yes. where did you find an actual " site"  map?? I was just curious of the layout and how far the bathrooms are at the Clubhouse.

Wow that a rally in Oct, Nov, Dec.  I think one a month is good [:D].
Parent/teacher conferences are that week so work load is light, maybe we ll come up Thurs nite

Duh, silly me didn t think to scan the map I have.  Thanks for reminding me.  Click here -->[link=http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/rnkmom/vwp?.dir=/Camping&.dnm=Far+West+Map.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires=t]Far West Map[/link]

The only drawback with the bathroom is that it s up a flight of stairs, in both Birch and Cedar.  Only with Alder is it RIGHT THERE.  However, the time we camped in Birch, when we had to go up and down the stairs, it wasn t that much of a hassle.

QuotePatricia are you volunteering to be the wagonmaster? Sign us up.

Yup, since it s so close to us and we re already familiar with the place.  In fact, Mike and Rebec are taking the tent (since No Way is grounded for awhile, grrr!) there tomorrow for one night.

Oh, the tent section is completely away from the RV section, another thing I like about Far West.

And if you like Mexican Food, right when you exit 126 is " Familia Diaz" , with excellent food!  We may well head there for Friday night.  Let me know if we need to reserve a table for a dozen, LOL!

oldmoose

CottonwooderDo you want us to make individual reservations?

Cottonwooder

oldmooseMoose, once I get this work back to my clients, I ll book us a few sites and ask if they want individual checks from each party or one big one from me.  Will keep you posted.  [:)]

oldmooseCottonwooder if you re getting sites  I d like to put my dibbs in for site 19 as a first choice, 4 as a second and 7or 8 for a 3rd choice.  Thanks for all your efforts.

should we do a Thanksgiving feast potluck or do you think it ll be too much turkey in one month??

Quoteshould we do a Thanksgiving feast potluck or do you think it ll be too much turkey in one month??

I d love to have this as mini-Thanksgiving, whether or not turkey is part of the menu.  Nice opportunity to give thanks simply for each other s camping companionship!

If anyone would like to organize the food, be my guest.  Although we might be small enough to not need any sort of planning at all.

Dee, I ll try to snag your requested sites for you.  [:)]

oldmoose~Patricia~ got so excited that NNC got their site up the day that the Lake Collins Rally got conceived that I wanted to make sure we got our site up early too.  So it s up at www.sccampers.org/santapaula/

 GuestMikey,

Two questions you never need ask again:

" Might there be an opening for us ?"
" If we can join in, ..."

The answer to both is always a resounding YES! [:D]

Just post that you and family want to attend and Scott will add you to the attnedees and then stay postedto the boards to find out how the Wagonmaster for the particular rally (Cottonwooder in this case) wants to handle reservations and site fees.

Hopefully Dave s trial will settle and we ll have the pleasure of meeting youa nd your family for Turkey time in Santa Paula (if not sooner if you canmake any of the other rallies planned).  If we can make it for this one, Dave ll deep fry a turkey!  Yum!!! [:D]

oldmooseWoohoo, we got the sites we want!  I love how TOS put up that Website before I d even made the reservation.  The funny thing was that Far West called us this morning; I didn t have to call them.  (Mike and Rebec are going tenting there tonight, and they called with a question, so while the gal was on the phone I made the booking.)  Would NOT have been funny if that weekend had been taken!  Thanks, Oh Mighty Webbie!

Have booked 6 sites, will get more if necessary.  Snagged sites 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 19.  We re taking #8 for ourselves, mainly because it s easier to back The Monstrosity into.  Please take a look at the [link=http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/rnkmom/vwp?.dir=/Camping&.dnm=Far+West+Map.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires=t]->Far West Map<-[/link] again and post which site you d like so TOS can include the info on his Website.  #9 and #10 are closest to the bathroom, and #19 will have a nice view of all of us.

TOS reminded me last night to get going with a name for this rally, so to tie it in with Thanksgiving: " Going Camping, Giving Thanks"   (Hey, quit laughing.  My first attempt at naming a rally.)

As for payment and all, the lady rattled off their policy quicker than I could jot notes down, so I ll just wait till we get everything in writing.  Mike should be bringing it home when he returns tomorrow.

Oh, Mikey, or whoever is newest to the group, part of SCCamper initiation is that the newest person pays for the entire rally.  Thanks!
