With my mood changes, so come the taste changes. I carry a portable bar with gin, vodka and a martini misto filled with dry vermouth, along with different bar implements. Then I bring mixers and lemons ad limes. Sometimes we take wine also and some irish cream for coffee. Sometimes we take nothing. Just kinda depends...

Portable bar - hmmmmmmm.  Hope Kathy and us can make the Eastern rally next year -- sounds like a great person to camp next too.[;)]

I hope people aren t getting some kind of odd mental image here! [8D]

I enjoy a cocktail in the evening and like a variety. Blaise will have a drink ocassionally. I don t get loud and rude and I m not a bad neighbor (that s for the folks that are thinking of going to Letchworth next year and might be thinking, " I DON T want to be next to them!" )

I don t set it all out for everyone to see either (I d be broke, I assume, but gather many new friends...) I guess you can say I like to be prepared!! [:D][8D][;)]

We d love to make the Eastern rally, but with Blaise s vacation picks going by union seniroity, it s kind of tough to make plans.

But HEY!!! We will be at the Finger Lakes Wine Fest come h*ll or high water!!! (Yup, I have lexan wine glasses [:D])

I m with you an occasional drink -- sorry to infer anything.  I do not get mental pictures of people because they refer to a portable bar.  We usually have beer, dacquirri coolers, and either the vodka and/or rum -- just in case[;)]

hoppyNo problem Nancy- definitely no offense taken!

I grew up on a neighborhood block where the families got together on the weekends and the adults threw cocktail parties for every ocassion. There are times I don t unpack the bar- other times, it gets used. I like having the option, because sometimes the kids make that option a necessity!![:D]

 kathybrjHi everyone,

Must say I was quite surprised by some of the choices for a cool evening sitting around the fire. (icy cold beers, daquaries, cold sodas, etc)

But to each his own, they say

I was thinking more in the way of hot apple cider, coffee, tea, and alcohol in the 82 + octane rating, etc.

But I am definetely agree with Birol on this one. (a little single malt and a chaser) Nothing finer.

(I also like a good cigar with this combo, but Mrs. Hoppy objects to this one)

   Hey kathybrj,

No need to defend your preference of choice

I think that s pretty cool bringing the fixings for martini s along. I never thought of that. I am going to do it on my next outing. People around me will think I m some kind of sophisticated, high brow " red-neck" .

Great reply s everyone.... keep them coming.

   Keep your kindling dry,

    Hoppy.

hoppyTo catch a buzz or just warm up a bit I like Bacardi Rum or Stoli Vodka, Cuervo Gold mixed with a variety of things, coke, O.J., grapefruit juice,  (fresh squeezed of course) margarita mix, rumrunner mix etc. To really get zonked there s nothing like good ole Monte Alban Mezcale con gusano and yes I eat the worm. But I d have to go Ab Diver, I m a milk and cookies type of guy also. I m not sure what makes me sleep better the booze or the milk. But to wake up there s nothing like a shot of Cuban coffee.
 Happy Camping

kathybrjOn a hot summer night a nice cold banshee or 2 goes down real nice. Other times I like wine. Never was much of a pop drinker, but cold water or Cider hits the spot too.

Is this thing working? Tried to preview and it shows nothing.

MPTDAT

hoppyMountain Dew and/or Captain Morgan and Coke depending on my mood!!

kathybrjMine would be spiced rum & coke, vodka & cranberry juice and of course a nice cold beer usually the light version.[:D]

kathybrjThe cooler mostly holds cans of Diet Mountain Dew and bottles of Propel (Gatorade s " Fitness Water" ). I like to freeze a couple of six packs of the Propel to pack in the cooler and the frig. It helps keep everything else cold and I can take a couple in a small cooler to the track without having to add ice.

There s part of a pint of Seagram s 7 and part of a pint of Crown Royal that have been traveling with me for a looooong time! Every now and then I ll bring some 7-Up along and have a 7&7 or Crown&7 in the evenings.

For camping trips in cool weather, a nice cup of hot chocolate hits the spot early in the morning or late at night.

garym053

hoppyA nice bottle of Merlot, or Cabernet Savigion. We just enjoyed a $200.00 bottle of 1979 Chateau Lynch Bages that I bought for our anniversary last year but never got around to drink because it snowed and I wanted to go Cross Country Skiing!
So we enjoyed it last night at the campground and celebrated my sister s anniversary along with ours! Ever drank $200.00 wine out of a red party cup before? It just filled 4 glasses. We were joking around that we were drinking $50.00 a glass wine and had no electricity or water!!!
