Turn Key

HoneybeeAlways has been and always will be, Bugs Bunny!  The pre-1970 stuff was great and the ones done during and just after WW II were outstanding.  The best one has got to be " Rabbit Hood" ![:D][:D][:D]  I laugh just thinking about that one.   Found it on VHS a few years ago and had to buy it.  How s that for an " adult" ?[8D]

Firefyter-EmtI guess that I had two favorites, I loved both Beany & Cecil, and Popeye.  For a while Milton the Monster could do no wrong, but I figure it was a phase I was going through!![;)][;)][:)][:@][&:]

QuoteI usually have a hard time finding other people who remember this one, but  Winkie Dink and I  was just about my favorite cartoon show ever. You got a kit in the mail, and it had this plastic sheet that stuck to the front of your tv screen, and these very soft wax crayons and when Winkie Dink (hey, I just watched it, didn t have anything to do with creating the main character) got into trouble, you had to help him by drawing something. Like a bridge over a sheer cliff with a river at the bottom, and then he could run to safety, and you could quick erase it with your magic cloth, so the bad guys couldn t use it. I just loved that show, but my mom took the crayons away after I used them on the living room wall.

I had the plastic sheet and the crayons!!! I didn t remember the name of the cartoon, but I remember sticking the plastic sheet on the TV screen and coloring it with the crayons!! Yay! Now I know I didn t imagine it!

My favorite cartoons were probably Bugs Bunny & the Roadrunner. I also loved Mighty Mouse.

I m really going to show my age here. Some of my favorite Saturday morning shows weren t cartoons but TV shows with real people. Anybody else watch " Fury" ? Or " Sky King" ? How  bout " My Friend Flicka" ?

DBGCAMP

Firefyter-EmtI can still remember getting up earlyt on weekdays before school to watch...

 Fractured fairy tales
 Rocky and Bullwinkle
 Simon and Mr. Peabody
 Under Dog

 and some show with..
2 Penguins (sorta like Laural and Hardy meets Yogi and BooBoo) that I can t remember the name of?

But on the Weekends... no question...

 Bugs Bunny!

HR Puff-n-stuff and Bannana Splits were great as well!

anyone remember the " boogaloos" (sp?)

And although not a cartoon... I was a real fan of
 Captain Kangaroo

Venatic

Firefyter-EmtFor me, I d always be watching all the Looney Tunes characters. It s amazing that Mel Blanc could do all of their voices. If I had to pick one, it would be Foghorn Leghorn.

Chez Way

Firefyter-EmtSome of my favorites were Beanie and Cecil, Felix the Cat, Gumby, Wacky Racers, The Flintstones, Mighty Mouse, Underdog, etc.  Now I love to watch The Simpsons, Spongebob and Courage the Cowardly Dog with my kids.

I remember Winkie Dink but didn t have the plastic screen...I guess that was the first interactive tv show!  Davey and Goliath was popular because that was one of the only cartoons on Sunday morning.  It s funny thinking back that I would search all 5 channels we had for cartoons (no remote).  Now my kids have cartoons available 24 hours a day on gazillion channels and if there is nothing that they like on Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, etc. they can just pop in a video or dvd.  Seems like it is kind of hard to appreciate the cartoons like we did in the days of yore!

Gamecock Camper

Firefyter-EmtI agree with Chez Way, the kids today live in a world of instant gratification.  Cartoon Network 24/7, so they probably don t appreciate waiting seven days until the next episode of (insert favorite cartoon here)..... I loved anything Looney Tunes, loved Jetsons, Flintstones, Augie Doggie, Underdog, etc....

I think I d have to say that my favorites were the  real people  shows like the Monkees, Lost in Space, Car 54, Get Smart, etc...   I know I must be showing my age, but those were well written and entertaining shows.

Our kids have the rule that there is no TV during the week... only on weekends are they allowed to watch TV.  That keeps them more focused on school and activities outside that will burn some energy.  They are all doing well at school, so it seems to be the right thing to do.    My kids  favorite cartoon is Sponge Bob.

Acts 2:38 girl

HoneybeeI loved Davey and Goliath!!  Also - Strawberry Shortcake!!  Even used to have the dolls ( need to buy one soon, I miss them!)  Also - the Care Bears, Smurfs (loved those hats)  I also used to be afraid of certain cartoons.  I have an Aunt that used to make me " buck up"  and watch shows that would make me sort of scared, so when the Ghostbusters cartoon came out - after seeing the movie - it used to really scare me!!  Thank you Lord for that dial!!
I also remember when we got our 1st TV with a remote control!! and it was color!
Me and my friends used to make fun of the kids who watched " Fraggel Rock" , because it was on HBO and you had to be rich to have that!! Pretty funny I married a man who used to watch it all the time!! [:D]

whippetwrun

Firefyter-EmtBanana Splits were my favorite - I liked The Arabian Nights and The Musketeers on their show.  Also always loved Quick Draw McGraw and his sidekick Babalouie!  El Kaaa-booooooonnnngggggg!
