Thanks for the welcome.  I found Tim's website already through the webring.   I've learned more in 2 days than I did in the last two months.  When the time gets closer I will ask for many specifics about Pohick.

Happy to help!  Have you reserved a certain site?  I have lots of pics of the campground also!

Thanks,  We are on site 46.  I am very excited about this trip and would love to hear any tips about the campground or anything for that matter.

Super!  I'll check through our pics when I get home from work and see if I have a picture of the site...I know I have lots of the campground. Do you have an email address I can send them to? I don't have them on the web. I keep saying I'm going to do that, but just have never gotten around to it yet!  LOL   Have you seen the site you're in or did ya just hope for the best?

We are hope for the best, live and learn, kind of people.  Truthfully in trying to pick what to do we now have a reservation at three places.   The DC KOA, Cherryhill, and Pohick.  I want to use the Pohick one and will next week cancel the others unless something unforseen happens.  I like trees when I camp.   How do people usually share their email addresses on this forum?

Yuk to the KOA and cherry Hill from us ;> ....Lots of people like Cherry Hill, but it's right off the interstate and is wall to wall people. There's just something about falling asleep to the sound of a trucker's jake brake that doesn't seem like camping. hehehe Pohick is just a few miles from the Springfield Metro station and you can catch the train into DC there and go anywhere you want, all day long for $5. It's also very close to Mount Vernon, to Gunston Hall and for a relaxing day, you can even rent sail boats, peddle boats, etc at the Pohick Bay Park and tool around the Potomac River. Pohick is the only one of those three you mentioned that is like what I consider a campground. LOL We like trees and more wooded roomy sites. Like to feel like we're in the woods! You'll get it there!

I'm sending you my email address. You'll see a message at the top of the screen that says you have a private message. You can send your email address to me and then I'll send you pictures and info.

As a little extra for us camping nuts who always forget or need something--- you're within half an hour of at least three Walmarts!  :D
