OC Campers

Anybody interested in a holiday camping trip. I just made reservations at Malibu RV Resort for 5/27-5/31. They still have sites available if anyone is interested. If you haven't been there this park is overlooking the ocean on the PCH. It has a gameroom, jacuzzi and pretty nice bathhouses. 5 of us stayed here last April and had a lot of fun. You can actually see a picture of us on the SC Campers home page.

It is a little pricey for the weekend but it is so close to the beach and a lot of good restaurants.   Check it out at www.maliburv.com

We have a site in section C with water and electric (mountain view). Fortunately, with a popup you still have a view of the ocean thru the back of the camper. If you went last April, our site is in the same location as before.

I mentioned it to Dave this evening at dinner.  We usually stay home on long weekends, since long weekends usually bring out the "non-campers" to camping.  Plus, Dave's birthday is May 30th and he loves to watch the Indy 500.  Of course, he did remmeber that Malibu had cable, so we might a long shot for this one.  :)

How many sites did they still have and any idea as to how quickly they'll sell out?

Fortunately, I doubt the non-campers would come here.  Plus, the tent sites are at the top of the hill and away from us.  We would love to celebrate Dave's birthday with him.  We would even let him make the margaritas:D .  I am not sure how many sites were left.   In fact she didn't even give me a site # except section C.  I also think that even though it is memorial weekend, the park location is kind of away from all the hubbub of Malibu.  Wasn't the beach access away from the general public?  Maybe the beach wouldn't even be that crowded.  If you are not sure, maybe call and reserve a site anyway.  They give you 72 hours before check in to get a refund.

That's good to know--maybe we will. :)  What days are you coming in on and leaving?

OC Campers

We will be there Thursday 5/27 and leaving Monday 5/31.  They have a 3 night minimum stay requirement because of the holiday.

I called this morning & reserved a spot in Section C without any problem. They said that section was pretty wide open (except for Jacqui & family - and now us :) )

OK there's 2 down for now - who else? Lori? It's been a while since we've seen you! Anyone? We got us a mini rally!

We will be there Fri. the 28th through Monday the 31st. Looking forward to it.

Yeah!!!  I am glad you guys could make it.  Now we can have a potluck!!  We do camp alone sometimes but it isn't as much fun.  Once you have camped with this group it is hard to camp alone.

Is this the place with no campfires ? I may camp somewhere close, (I might try San Dimas) Dan's daughter and husband are buying a restaurant (we are proud of them they turn 25 in May) He is flying up for a family & friends dinner, not sure if the rest of us are going. the cost difference is quite a bit. around $400 for just Dan and about $1500 for all of us.

OC Campers

Deidre, I don't remember if fires are allowed or not.  Probably not because it is right in the Malibu burn area.  I might try to call and see if we can use the enclosed fire pit that we bought for Vail Lake and have never used there.

That's a work weekend for us at the house in the Sierra's. I'm looking forward to Yucaipa though. Check out the recipe I posted today.

Nope, no fires allowed at Mailbu.

Hmmm...the only time I've ever been accused of being "witty," "wit" was preceded by "half" or "nit" ;) :p :D

Tracy and David

Okay, We're in, too!  I called and the very nice guy there said that he couldn't tell us which site we had, but that it was just what we asked for...HUH?
I asked if that meant we would be right near our friends SimiRich and OCCamper and he said, "Yes."  So now I'm happy!

OC Campers

Tracy that is fantastic!!  I am really looking forward to the weekend.   The kids from all 3 families will get along great.

Lori, were you able to talk Dave into it?  Maffew needs someone to "hug"
