I DID ...I DID! :-()

I will most likely pick it up after Halloween, this week is too busy to deal with walk thru's and installing hitch stuff etc...

My driveway will be quite full with 2 trailers and 2 vehicles :yikes:
The PU will be going up for sale soon.

Scott & G- We did buy the 2005 Wanderer 261SD. I also liked the Aerolite Cub, but the cabinetry seemed more sturdy in the Wanderer. Dan of course saw the price and said we must get it today (a first)

Now I'm having anxiety about towing a 26 ft trailer. but it makes sense, we have plenty of growing room and "mom can I bring a friend room"
I also have the cabinet picked out for the oreo's, marshmellow's and candy that Kara can't reach :D

I'm sure glad our first trip is to Campland and its a pull thru  :eyecrazy:

I wonder if I can pay the guys at Pismo to park it for me

Congrats to you!  We didn't get to the show until after the 11:00 meeting time so I looked for you in the hybrid area but missed you.  Darksiders said that your show map was all marked up with all the dealers you wanted to visit.  Sounds like you had a busy and productive day!  We are looking forward to checking out your new rig.

The show was great.  We looked at a ton of popups, hybrids, trailers and RV's and still didn't see 1/2 of them.  Some of those RV interiors are amazing.  The kids loved the Fleetwood hybrid with the double bunk beds.  We're not ready to make a change now but it sure is fun to check out what is out there.  We also signed up for some "free" camping weekends and checked out the gadgets in the big tent which was fun.  Thanks to my Temecula rally shirt we also got to meet a fellow ScCamper, Fishinful, who was also checking out the Fleetwoods.

Hi all.

Saw our fair (no pun intended) share of SCCampers.  Saw Tony....we didn't recognize each other from Santa Paula until I mentioned Georgeanne---"Oh, Mar-gar-G-tas," now I remember you.

Also saw FishinFul at the seminar, but it had started and our sandwich was getting cold.  Seminar was good BTW.

Saw D as she was looking at a hydrid.  Congrats.  You'll have no problem towing it.  Rumor has it that the longer they are the easier they are to turn.  Has to do with the fulcrum or something like that.

And got to see Dave and Lori as the FRS radio came in handy.  It's not something we use very often...It was nice to hear, "Scott and Georgeanne" on the radio.

We bought absolutely nothing, but had a good time looking at the changes and updates in the new campers.  We'll keep ours for at least a few more years until we are in a position to spend months at a time in it---then we'll have to say good bye to canvas.

Congratulations Deidre-wow 26ft?  Is it a hybrid or a tt.  Does it have a slide out too?  I can't wait to see it at Pismo.  I would love a hybrid but alas we are house poor.:(
Happy camping.

Congratulations Dee and Dan on the new Hybrid.

As for towing it, once you've made the first trip or two, you should have no problem towing it.
Backing it into a site is a bit more difficult as you can't see over it like the popup, but as long as someone is there to direct you, it is fairly easy, and the double axles keeps it a lot straighter than our old Niagara used to be.

Best of luck with it, and have fun trying to fill all those empty cabinets!!

well I get to pick her up on WED. My sister offered to house the PU until after Halloween. I don't want anything in the driveway while I park it. I was going to put on the street, but we have one of those "I have nothing better to do than complain" neighbors who calls code enforcement if your trash can is visible for an extra day. besides with Halloween it will be safer in her driveway. I need the room we're having a Halloween Bash (if anyone is interested in popping in. Sat 30th 8PM til ??? pro KJ/DJ, beer, food, food, food, beer firepit, singing lots o' fun, come in costume. you know my motto the more the merrier).

I'm still pretty sure Wes and Karen were there looking at pop ups.  They're just too shy to say so.  ;) :D

Dee -- You got the same floor plan as the Aerolite we wanted!  I was concerned about the bowing in the cabinet doors, but I dont' even remember looking at the Wanderers.  You have the rear trunk, right?  I'm looking at the brochure.

As far as parking, just leave Dan at home and call Scott for help.  It worked for me!  LOL

Scott & Marga -
We met you at lunch on Saturday at the RV show.  Thanks for the advice, we bought the Sea Pine and can't wait to pick it up!  It really helped to talk to someone that knew the camper...and it was quite fortuitous that you should sit right next to us, so we went with fate!  I guess now we just have to research where to go.  Happy camping!

yes it has the rear trunk and the wanderer was a better price (rumor from more than one source they're not making this model anymore)

the cabinets seemed more study and the fabric colors aren't my fav, but will be kid friendly. I pick it up Wed. they said I will be there about 2 hours for the install of hitch equalizer & sway control and complete walk-thru & operation.

you might have missed them they were in the back row where the tear drop trailers were and it wasn't under brand name but under "Family RV" center they are at Traveland in Irvine. They told me he thinks they may have one more coming in and thats it.

When we picked up our PU more than 2 years (has it been that long ago already!:yikes: ) we took our video camera and Dave videoed the service tech showing me how to set up and break down everything on the camper.  It was nice to be able to review the tape later at home b/c there was so much to absorb on the walk-thru and you know how little capacity my brain has. ;)

Dee4j

DH won't be going I don't think, I had actually thought about video taping especially since I have to work the night before. I'm hoping there is less to do
I should start jotting down my questions as I think of them.
I hope its not raining when I tow it home. my neighbor has a big 5th wheel maybe I can get him to back it in my driveway if I can't figure it out.
eeek Its sooooo big

funny you should say that, Lori...Wes thinks we should "rent" a pop-up, so we can enjoy the experience w/ everyone else. altho, i think pop-ups are very cute and enjoyed looking at them (yes, we were in pop-up territory at the show, i to told him to focus on our new investment, we're not buying/renting anything.
