This place looked fun, but doesn't allow campfires at this time so late April or early May might be warm enough not to need one but not too hot to be in the desert.
They don't take reservations but with groups of 10 or more they will as long as its not a holiday weekend So anyone interested I'm looking at May 6-8 (mothers day) or April 29-May 1

It looks nice from the pictures!  I'd prefer late April rather than Mother's Day, or maybe even the weekend after Mother's Day, but I'll have to check with Dave and see how his calender looks.  I'm afraid 2005 may be a busy year of trials for him. :(

That's a lon g drive for a weekend for us.

That area of DHS is prone to wicked wind storms in the spring :yikes: (we used to live there)...I'd see if you could find others who have stayed there and what their experience was.  (The temps will be nice though...although late May can easily hit the 100's)

Funny, this place would show up as a rally local, Kim's step family owns and operates this place.  We've only been there once, at thanksgiving.  We didn't check out the whole place, but we can get all the info on this place.

I'll get back to you with details:)

Just goes to show...it's not where you camp, it's who you camp with, that matters!;) :D

I just checked with them and to get the RV rate, we need 10 RV's.  I asked about the winds and they said that it varies year to year.  Reservations are sooner the better especially if we want the rec. hall.  There will be no reservations for March 25-26.  My dad said that N. Palm Springs gets winds in the spring but wasn't sure if it would miss Sam's area.

It would be fun to camp here, this way I'd have another chance to visit the family.  I have lots of family in Palm Springs.

Let's see how this goes.

Wow!! What a small world.  It turns out the only weekend in may we have available is the first weekend. Kevin has a science camp for a week (first time away from home   :% ). So I want to be home the weekend before and I don't know when they would be back on Friday. But pick a weekend that makes sense for the majority and I never thought about the winds so maybe later in may would be better

This looks very nice.......Are you sure they let PU's in?  Some of these hot springs places only like the big guys?  We think it would be a fun campout, my poor old body can already feel that warm water.....We live up in the high desert and it sure can get windy in the desert this time of year......but we have camped in some strong winds and so far so good.....Price is right let you know for sure in Jan......carol   :frosty:

I checked and they do allow PU's as well as tent camping, so our group should be no problem.

Sue Hardee

Count the Hardee's and Hivelys in.   Looks great and any weekend in April or May looks great.

Sue Hardee

sounds great to me for a weekend.  April would be nice and not too hot yet.  Count us in...Not of Mother's day weekend because have to visit my Grandmother who is going to be  99 years in Jan 05.

I talked to my brother yesterday and he said that April would be a really good month to go camping.  After May, he said it'll be too hot.  I'm getting excited.

Now that we SOLD our old pop up, we have to buy our new one and we'll be there.  It was sad to see it go but now we can get our 05 Niagra.

And now that we've bought kimrb266's pop-up, we can join in the fun.  (Hi, Kim :) )  Hot springs sounds good.  I'll talk with my DW and hopefully we can go too.
