This is a test for griffsdad, who recently "refound" the boards and now is hooked.  He wanted an avatar so this is a test post to see if it worked.

Actually, now we're like the Gs.  I'm on my laptop (dial-up--ugh!!!) in the bed room and Dave's on the desktop (cable modem, the booger!) both cruising the boards.

What's so funny is that he pm's me to tell me something! :J

Lori---you should get a wireless network so you can share that DSL hook-up.  Or go wired and stay in the same room.  That may not eliminate the need for PM, but occasionally you may talk.

Welcome GriffDad.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me aboard. It's about time Lori let me use the computer. This is my first official post and I notice that some of you are well over a thousand posts. A thousand posts!!!! Well it lookis like every one is having fun. Dee and Moose, I can't wait to go camping again. It's killing me that it's raining almost every weekend. When will it end? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Jacqui I miss camping with Randy and your family. I can't wait for Pismo. Jacqui, if your in the market for an Exepition, get the bigger engine. I love mine when I do drive it. It's a 2003 and it only has 9,000 miles on it. I know, I should drive it more. But Lori won't let me. Jacqui, I'm also thinking of getting a Honda generator the 2000i, so that we can go dry camping. I know you have the Honda 1000i generator and from reading your posts you speak highly of Honda generators. I'm also looking at the Yamaha 2800. Well it's time to pop open another beer and cruise the board. What Lori, you want to use the computer now???? Yes dear. Bye all.

We miss all of you guys too. Pismo is just around the corner. You wouldn't be interested in selling the Expy would ya? I've heard from a good source it is only "driveway candy". Hmm.. what a waste of all that horsepower.:D Only kidding, I couldn't bare to see your Isuzu Trooper being pushed around by the Sun Valley anymore.:) ;) .

Hey, if you get that gennie, maybe you guys will meet us up in Bridgeport.  We got reservations at Paha for Memorial day but couldn't get any for the summer.  We are finally going to try Shaver Lake and the SCE campground.  Hey Dave they have cable at Shaver.

Scott: wireless is cool but Dan is anti-wireless...you can ask him sometime ..that's if you want him on his soapbox :screwy:

I can't disagree with Dan.  Especially when I saw my nephew tap into my sister's neighbor's wireless network to gain access to the internet in a house that otherwise had no internet access.

We're wired, but we are in the same room.  If Lori set up in the same room as Dave, I'd have recommended a wired network to share their internet connection.

Dave is thinking about getting wireless and then adding a router so I can be on wireless cable modem with my laptop.  I have, however, heard some people say that wireless connections are too easily hijacked by people driving past your house.  Dee--Is that one of the things Dan gets soapboxy about?  Even so, I'd rather have the wireless than share the DSL in the same room.  I've heard talkng can be detrimental to a marriage. ;)  Backing up a PU together ranks right up there as well.

Uh....yeah, right.  And if you believe that little ditty, I've got some beautiful beachfront property I'd like to show you in Vegas.  Does the phrase "driveway candy" ring a bell for you, sweetie?

Huh?    I wasn't anywhere near the computer last night, but have been feverishly trying to finish a quilt to auction off at our adoption agency's annual fundraising dinner next Saturday.

Okay, I can see we're going to have lay some ground rules now that griffsparents are both online.  Here's the first one:

 1)  Dave is a lover of tall tales.  That means he sometimes can't help himself in making stuff up.  How can you tell when he's joshin' you?  Well,  as the old lawyer joke goes, how can you tell when a lawyer is lying?  His lips are moving.  Or in this case, his fingers.

I'm sure the rest of the rulebook will develop as we go along.  ;)

yes..it's too easy to hyjack info. I would love to have one so we all could use it at the same time..well Dan & I anyway (kevin won't be seeing any electronic gadget for a while)
