Quote from: griffsdadGod help us, the SCCampers are having a rally in June!!!! I feel a 40 day flood coming on followed by hail.

Oohhh ... maybe they'll cancel school for the rest of the year then.

Dee -- Remember that novel activity called "geocaching" -- there's one in the park that Lori found last year.  Don't know how easy it'll be with lots of beer, though.  :D

It's a very easy cache.  Beer might make it more funner. :D

I think we should start a SCCAMPER cache on this trip and hide it in a big beer can!

Actually , we could do something like that--maybe make it themed, like camping trinkets only, etc.  We'd have to first get approval from geocaching.com in order to list it on their site so people can find it.

I LOVE that idea!  Let's do it!  We always talk about starting a cache and never do it.  Do you know how?  I need to get back on that site and read up on that part.  We could also add a travel bug!  As you know, there are LOTS of good hiding places there.

Actually, now that I seriously think about it, I think there are "nearness" restrictions for lack of the correct terminology.  In other words, you can't have caches within a certain distance of one another, so "TPTB" (the powers that be) probably wouldn't approve another cache within the cg.  :(

I believe you are right about that.  We have 3 in a park near us, but it is a huge wilderness type park and the caches are a mile or more apart.  I'm going to search and see if there are any down by the Oceanside pier.

we're gonna pass on this one :( ... it looks like a nice cg, tho.  We're planning to camp the week before on the Memorial holiday. We like to take advantage of those 3-dayers... going to N.Dunes, if anyone's interested (altho i kno most don't like it cuz it's pricey)

hey, did anyone notice that we'll have a new place to camp at the beach in a couple of years?!!  i just heard on the news that a moblie home park is being converted into a cg....  it's in El Morro, which is between Laguna & N.B
YIPPEE!!!  (i did feel sad for the people that were evicted, albeit only for a nanosecond)

Quote from: griffsdadAnd you can fish. Griffy caught two catfish in 30 minutes.
OK, there's nothing on their website about fishing there. Do they have a lake that's not listed in their info? Is there a charge to fish? Just wondering.

Off to camp in the desert again below Wrightwood. It's an old BS camp at about 4000'. Brrrr.

I think it's a less than a mile restriction.  I'll check it out.  I've got one of those military decon containers -- nice & watertight for caches.  And I have a TB that needs to get started.  I'll look for an appropriate swag (camping themed), and we can decide if it's possible.  It could be LOTS of fun!

Yes Karen you're right. There will be a state campground at El Moro in Laguna Beach. I can't wait. It should be great!! I hope when it opens that it's not to hard to get into. We live less than 10 miles away. ;)

Here's what I found on hiding a cache ...

"The reviewers use a rule of thumb that caches placed within .10 miles (528 feet or 161 meters) of another cache may not be listed on the site. This is an arbitrary distance and is just a guideline, but the ultimate goal is to reduce the number of caches hidden in a particular area and to reduce confusion that might otherwise result when one cache is found while looking for another. This guideline applies to all stages of multicaches and mystery/puzzle caches, except for any

Well, I e-mailed Bob(Freedom5), and he said he reserved a site but I have no clue where it is.  I told him to post it to this thread so we knew who all would be there for the Potlucks and such.
