I don't think we will need a pavilion, but if the rest of the group wants it we can look into it.  Usually we just move a few tables to one site to put the food on and then people bring their own small tables and chairs over to the group site. :)

Chip, is the Naturalist there in the spring? When I was there, there was some kin of activity going on in that Pavillion on a Sturday night. But that was in July.  They were teaching some sort of survival skills that weekend.

Oh HI ALL From poolside at the La Adventurer/Tradewinds Hotel in Inglewood CA...will be back tuesday AM.  I'm getting good at this maze of parking lots they call expressways *ducking quickly if anyone from this area reads this*...but they will have to admit I405 heading toward LAX arund the Promenade is often gridlocked...I wanna move out here. LOVE the food and the natives are friendly...some are kinda strange, but then I fit in well...Bye!

Glad you are having a good time.  Are they natives?

Sounds like you are having entirely tooooo much fun.  :)

Don't know about the Naturalist and the pavilion.  The Park only has things scheduled through about mid-June on Saturday (according to the web site) and not all are in the pavilion...

Looks like the point may be moot, anyway.  Might be more fun at the camp/group site.  (Cheaper too...)

SheBantam

I'm back in the real world now and the head is clearing...too bad.

Actually I was at Killens in June before, not July, will be there again this June also too...

I was also getting the dates mixed up with the one later this month...I was becoming a "Valley Girl".

When we were there they were using the pavilion and also a native American was in the field across the road fron the cangrounds about history of Local Native American Tribes.

Tracy some of the people I met were native Californians some were transplants, like the bar tender/waitress at the hotel, she is from State College/

Guess what guys and dolls, I had to cancel...no not this outting, the one for June 9th...at Killens...they are re-paving the parking and are seriously behind (in the main park NOT the campground), DNREC has asked us to postpone our Recogntion...June 23.  The bad news it that there is not one single campsite left that weekend, the good news is that my site was still availble, so you all are NOT going to be rid of me on Monday, well you will be sort of, I have to go to work.  But like the Arnold...I'll be back (in the evening). I get off at 3:30 and it is a little over an hour in good traffic using the toll road...so I will be there each evening, will pack up on Wednesday after work and turtle so I can get up really really early and come home, dropping the trailer and truck in the drive and taking another vehicle to work.

Hey guys!

Getting psyched for this trip...  They have a LOT of activities planned at the CG when we're there.  Click here for a list: http://www.destateparks.com/Activities/eeprograms/searchEE.asp

I'd like to do the night hike and a hayride.  Check in is 1PM, check out is noon.  It took me a while to find that on the website...

Tracy - should we do a separate thread for the pot-luck menu or just post everything in here??

I Just found this....

For those of you new to Killens (myself included) I just found a little note on the parks webpage that might be useful to some.

The park's main entrance is on Killens Pond Road; the campground entrance is on Paradise Alley Road.

Yep.  But just follow the little "campground" signs and you'll get there.
