If you are coming across the DMB and going through Harrrington, the first sign in the main park entrance, go down 13 a little further and make your left at that sign...
If you are coming up from the ferry, then it would be the first sign and it would be a right...just a matter of perspective and direction...

Paula what is the "DMB"?  I will be coming down 113 or 13.

I am guessing DMB is the Delaware Memorial Bridge... :D

SheBantam

Sorry, yes the DMB is the Delaware Memorial (for our friends from Jersey)

Harrington can get a little crowded on 13 if the fair has started.

If you go on 13 through Dover, I think there are 20 some lights from the North Dover exit up until the mini expressway from Rt. 1 ends south of Dover. It is well worth the dollar for the toll (80 cents if you have an EZ PASS, any EZ pass)

If you go down Route 1 after the toll Plaza watch for the exit that says 13 south it will skirt you around the south end of Dover and a BUNCH of lights.

When this mini expressway ends you want to take a left (13 South), not too many lights that way though there are a few around the shopping centers.
You will pass Rodney Village and Carrolls Plaza keep going straight.
You will also get to see the new SuperWalmart at Camden DE on the right...
I guess about another 10 miles you will see the signs. The first one is to the main part of the Park where the picnic area and water park are.  Go down 13 further to the south maybe a mile or so and there is a sign to make the left into Paradise Alley.
The campground sits a good ways away from US 13 (thankfully).

If you make Harrington, then you have gone too far.

Tracy I have come in off of 113 and got lost back in the farm land.

Paula I will probably come down 113, because I know that road.  That is the way we go down to Assateague.  It doesn't look that bad to come in from 113.  There are signs on 113 for the park and it looks (although looks can be deceiving) like I would get on 12 at Frederica and take that to Carpenters Bridge Rd. to Paradise Alley.:)

We'll be late arrivers on Friday night.  9 pm +.  Watch the night time backing in show, it's always good!   :p

I think we are going to take 40 east to 896 through Middletown out to Route 1.   That's a route I am very familiar with. Hopefully, there won't be too much beach  traffic.

OK Paula now you have me really confused.  The DMB is 295 and 40 if I have that right.  Why would you go through Harrington, DE if you are going to Killen  Pond?  Isn't  Harrington pretty much due west of Milford, and they are both south of the park.:(

killen, is just before harrington coming from the "DMB"

Tracy, I think Paula was just saying that you head south on 13 toward Harrington. She says that if you get to Harrington, you've gone too far... I think that's down where the fair is.

Just looked at the state fair info (I'm the proverbial procrastinator). For those arriving on Friday who plan to attend the fair, you might want to consider going on Friday afternoon. If the weather is nice, we will probably do this as we will have 4 people considered adults (and will save some $).
  - Admission is normally $6 per adult (over 9yo) but it's only $1 pp on Friday from 8am - 5pm. If you arrive after 5pm, you pay the normal admission rate (but can get a $1 pp discount if bought online before July 20).
  - Rides on Friday from 1pm-5pm are $1 each. After 5pm, they go to tickets (doesn't say how many tickets are required per ride). A book of 20 tickets is $22 if bought at the fair. If bought online, before July 20, the book is $16.
  - There are fireworks at 10pm on Friday night (not listed for other nights).

Please let me know if I have misread the fair info.

Shush, don't tell them yet.  They may not camp with us if they know.;)

Rain? Rain?  We don't need no STEENKIN' rain!

Actually rain while camping is quite peaceful to me.  Torrential downpours are a different story.  I was worried about TS Beryl there for a while.   Looks like it should mostly miss us.  Temps look like they will be good for camping too.

BTW Tracy- We camped at Lums Pond earlier this year.  So this is no longer our first Delaware camping trip.

DiW

Well, hopefully we won't have as much rain as in Watkins Glen or during Tracy's bday bash in the Poconos. Those were definitely WET weekends...but as Beckie said, rain is nothing new to our group... Just checked and found out it will about $150 to replace my EZUp top (fabric only) so that's out. Looks like I'll have to find some way to get rid of those saggy spots myself.
