We recieved ours yesterday, and we enjoyed it.
It has a lot more of the trailers we and our friends camp in.
Including sitting around the fire with a margarita till the early morning.

We sincerely appreciate "all" the comments that our readers and subscribers post here or send directly to Dave and me.  We will defend our choice to change the name and format of the magazine but promised you to stay close to our roots and not abandon the thousands of people that have been so faithful to Pop Up Times.

We felt it was important to include many of the negative comments in our Letters to the Editor section to recognize and share the discomfort that many were feeling with our decision.  My comments are not intended to be condescending.  We will defend our decision and try to explain what we are doiing, and why we are doing it.  I think we owe that to all our readers.

Overal, the comments have been very supportive.  We intend to continue publishing readers letters and some with have a feisty response because, quite honestly, they don't make sense.  We don't expect to change your minds if you don't like what we are doing with the magazine, but we are also not afraid to include your communications if you don't agree with us.

We did receive one e-mail that was a bit disturbing thought.  The subscriber was extremely upset with the new magazine and was going to "tell" all his friends to cancel their subscriptions.  I wrote back and told him that his friends were probably capable of making their own decisions and that he should let them decide on their own if they liked the new magazine.  He is certainly free to express his thoughts, but the new magazine contained three stories on pop-ups!  When was the last time Pop UP Times included three feature stories on new campers?

I think our readers are smart enough to make up their own minds about the new magazine.  Your comments here and through your e-mails prove that to be true.

We will be focusing on affordable camping units and you will not see a lot of $100,000 units in the magazine ... I promise you that.  We picked that number as the upper limit of where we wanted to focus, but we know and appreciate the audience that we write for and want to continue providing you with information on new products and experiences that are close to your heart ... and close to the ground.

Please continue to let us know how we are doing and sharing your comments either directly with us via e-mail or through the forums.  This is the real measure of our work and we appreciate each and every response.

Thanks for contributing.

Hi Bob and thanks for responding to this thread. I really enjoyed the first issue of RVE and thought the content was completely appropriate ...IMHO. My only concern was that the magazine would try to compete with Trailer Life/Motorhome. I used to subscribe to TL but dropped it because they went almost entirely to the high end units in their content. I looked at the latest copy just the other day and almost all of the stories and ads were for huge 5ers and TT that you almost need a semi to tow. That is fine, but it is not my interest. I enjoy reading about all sorts of units but at the lower, more affordable end of the scale and, as I said in my earlier post, I don't know of another publication that is concentrating on that niche ( Camping Life, maybe, but they tend to focus more on tent camping). Your comment, quoted above, is really what I wanted to hear. Now, how about more content  ;)

Good luck and keep up the good work,
Jim

I got mine yesterday, I really like it, and I am one of those that progressed from PUP to Hybrid, and I think this is a great move on the part of RVE to not only provide information to PUPs but also the expanding populous of HTT owners and medium priced RVer's.....

It's a KEEPER for me !

So far the new magazine seems good.  Just truly hope the pop-up and low to medium end, for other type of campers, stays the focuse.  Also helpful would be reviews on tow vehicles and related equipment for this type of camping.

We received RVE the other day and we really enjoyed it.

We have been trying to find the Starcraft 36RT at a local dealer and haven't been able to find one and then Voila, it its in RVE.

Bob Zagami, I read the new RVE and really enjoyed it, the one thing I notice about it and the issues of PUT is that you only list the magazines web site, but you dont let readers really know about this site and what it has to offer, like the friendly advice, and the friendships that start here, and the how to advice, the reciepes and alot more. I've been hooked on this site since October of last year when i joined. I was a PU newbie and believe me if it wasn't for this site i dont think having the PU would have been easy to learnon my own. All the RV dealers here really dont want to be bothered with questions about PU's or they just dont know. Its nice to have a place to learn where others take there time to explain and are patient, because everyone learns at different speeds. What I'm getting at, is why dont you do an article on this site and all it has to offer, i'm sure it would get the attention of your readers that dont even know this site exist.........Thanks for Everything............Ed :sombraro:

Sorry, no brown nosing here. I don't like the new format. I also never have cared for the harvesting of content from this site to make articles for the magazine. The new mag looks like a bad version af Trailer Life.
