Okay, I KNOW it's early (and still 2006).  However, a student of mine told me about her family's tradition of going to Newport Dunes for Easter Weekend.  Newport Dunes does it up quite a bit, with basket decorating, egg decorating, egg hunt, Easter Bunny, etc.  

If we get a group of 10 sites, we can have the group rate of $37.40/night (tax included), which is a good deal (usually $55/night or more (plus tax)).  Plus, we can have a banquet room for one of the nights for a potluck or whatever.

Yes!!  I actually called the guy in charge...and he hasn't called me back (vacation, I think).  I wanted to firm things up with him....and then post more specifics.  Hopefully it will be within the next two weeks!

Hey, All!  I need to firm up exactly who is going and who is not going.  I presently have 20 sites....once I firm up how many sites I have exactly, then I will know our site numbers for you to choose from.  What I do know is we are in the premium section...in the 2200 section, light blue (if you want to look at the map online).  I will PM those of you who I do have down to doublecheck if you are in or not.  

Oh, and you can call them now to reserve for two nights earlier, and two nights later than our weekend.  Just tell them you are with Sccampers...and they will adjust it once we get our site numbers assigned.

If I've read the map right, the premium sites are not on the waterfront & fairly close to PCH.  That being said (especially the PCH part), I'm bowing out.  Nighttime noise & I don't get along.  And I don't do earplugs.

Looking at the map...yes, they look close to PCH...and I have no clue except what they have told me.  They said they are actually not that close to PCH, and are quiet.  The standard sites are supposedly closer to PCH.  But, no worries!  We'll catch you another time!

I didn't notice the car noise when we stayed there but then again cars are like white noise to me and I tune them out. ( i do tarins & planes too)we where also there during a horrific storm..

We're off, too....so we'll be staying!  We wanted to hit the Upper Newport Bay Reserve....the Peter and Mary Center (if possible)...etc.
